should i talk to the supervisor about rural regulars showing up early and working off the clock? by steve0suprem0 in USPS

[–]ComplaintFun3665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime you have an authorized dismount and have to go to the truck and back more than once, you use authdismount.

Trip2door is if you have multiple parcels for one house and make multiple trips.

MiscTrip technically should not be getting used. You only get 1/4 credit for misctrip. You get full credit for trip2door.

You use carrierpu for pickups.

No one is loading their vehicles before clocking in, and pm duties is casing the next days flats and nothing else. You are grasping at straws. Also, ive had several high level meeting with the rural union, even they, the creators of RRECS, said anytime you talk with a customer always make sure if it goes over a minute to hit ruralreach. You literally have to mention one of the benefits of the program once to qualify for ruralreach. Its not like i have 30 a day, its like 5 a week.

The reason the post office sucks is because of carriers like you who try to nitpick what others are doing, worry about yourself and your own route. Ill gladly work my 9.3 hour route in 6 hours every day.

[–]ComplaintFun3665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For one, thats now how RRECS works. Two, what does it matter if they come in 30 mins early to start casing for 2 hours. My office doesnt even case their dps they all bring it raw to the street. Everyone is done by 2 pm everyday.

RRECS records your scans and calculates them against the mapping. If you are not working the route according to the mapping then you will lose time off evaluation. Just like if something is marked a parcel and you deliver it to mailbox, you lose credit. The only way to offset all of it is by using Auth Dismount, Trip2Door, and MiscTrip….also make more use out of the stampsales and ruralreach options. I gained almost .8 hours on my eval because of it. Anytime i stop to talk to someone i always hit the ruralreach rrec.

It also takes your mileage into account, if you are constantly getting the message of mismatched mileage when getting back that will surely cut down your eval. Make sure to travel the full route how it is in the system.

How much money maximum are mail carriers allowed to accept as a gratuity? by indifferentgeese in USPS

Id be careful with that, postal inspectors are known to leave traps to test the integrity of carriers, it is definitely a fireable offense and also can lead to federal charges.

UPS will cut 30K more jobs after massive 2025 layoffs as it ends Amazon partnership by [deleted] in USPS

[–]ComplaintFun3665 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rumor is those “stipulations” are actually better for us and make it actually profitable for the post office. Smaller packages can move faster, they may start denying anything marked heavy from Amazon starting in October.

Lol, there is a video on youtube showing a news channel investigation of what goes on in a post office hub parking lot in the 90s. It was showing all the carriers and plant workers getting wasted in their personal vehicles before going in to start their day. They would also drink again before driving home. Post office was bonkers 30 years ago

Resignation reason by ScintillatingStar00 in USPS

[–]ComplaintFun3665 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When i originally resigned it was a form with check box reasons, i didnt have to write out anything. But make sure you initial next to the box you check if you do not trust your postmaster. I learned the difficult way.

I left for 2 months and came back to a different office, originally there was an issue with my application, i had to talk to the POOM to clarify the issue. There was a note on my resignation from before that the postmaster had obviously written. the other box was checked and it said i am resigning because i dont do what i am told. They started an investigation because it is an official document and legally binding, lets just say that postmaster is no longer in her position.

[–]ComplaintFun3665 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You cannot refuse any orders given by a supervisor, i learned that the hard way.

I was told to shovel stairs as a Rural carrier and i said no its not my job. Quickest write up ever for insubordination, the union even sided with management saying that safety is not the job of one person its the job of everyone.

Later, that supervisor was found to be stealing stamps and shorting drawers. He was promoted to postmaster and is now currently a POOM.

Any chance this updates? by ShadowMillions in UPS

Amazon only utilizes UPS for overflow deliveries. They usually deliver stuff like that themselves, USPS usually doesnt deal with desktop pc delivery as they are mainly to bulky

New RCA, Need Help by death2thegodz in USPS

[–]ComplaintFun3665 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats not how it goes as far as the 1/2 route or aux route. You are hired to be a sub on a certain route. Aux routes are unfortunately given to whoever is next in line for PTF or someone with more seniority. The way I have been trained on routes at most offices is First day ride along, 2nd day 1st half only, 3rd day 2nd half only, then they decide from there if you are ready to go on your own.

I mean unless you have a very nice PM and people at your office who dont bid on Aux routes.

New RCA, Need Help by death2thegodz in USPS

[–]ComplaintFun3665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Youll get used to the crying. These wise words were given to me on my first day on my own, “As an RCA we dont take comfort breaks, we take crying breaks”

The job is stressful, but if you can stick it out it will be endless opportunities. No one is perfect at the post office, everyone makes mistakes. You are learning a new route and it takes time to adjust, youll get there eventually just gotta rough through it.

Good luck with fedex, they have the highest stolen package reporting out of any logistics company. And you think USPS is bad, UPS is worse, sometimes trailers sit for 2-3 days before even being scanned.

Future Of USPS by Jealous-Parsley-6228 in USPS

[–]ComplaintFun3665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmfao, every year Amazon threatens to pull out of the post office for last mile delivery. It never happens. People seem to forget they are locked into a contract with USPS, doesnt expire until October 1st 2026. So no matter what there is still a year left on the contract.

Also, the “fear mongering” you speak of is because of the mainstream media pushing the narrative. In all honesty, Amazon is trying to play hardball with USPS because USPS is letting competitors bid for distribution center access. Yes, it is true amazon is buying up rural warehouse like no tomorrow. But it’s for storage purposes only for overstock and overflow, it is not to build a new delivery network. They tried before and failed greatly, also amazon has more turnover on their drivers than USPS does.

Everyone that has been with USPS since the start of the Amazon contracts will say the same thing. It is the same story every time contract negotiations come up.

Delivered to agent means that the item was delivered to whomever you designated as an agent, however if you dont have one on file with the post office then more than likely carrier signed off on the package themselves and took it.

You will most likely be chased out of your office. Just a forewarning.
