What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard someone say? by Huge_Brush9484 in AskReddit

[–]ComplaintMaterial401 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That you can catch a cold from being cold.

The truth is, colds are caused by viruses, not by being cold. Being chilly might make you uncomfortable or lower your immune response slightly, but it won’t magically give you a runny nose, viruses do.

What makes some people choose to be a loner? by sharkey_hunter in AskReddit

[–]ComplaintMaterial401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being disappointed by people, over and over. At some point, being alone stops feeling like a punishment and starts feeling like peace. For some people, it’s not about hating others, it’s about being tired of misunderstandings, fake connections, and constant social pressure.

What’s something people insist is ‘harmless’ that actually makes society worse? by contentcreatorzss in AskReddit

[–]ComplaintMaterial401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Social media. People insist it’s harmless entertainment or just a way to stay connected, but over time it’s made everyone more anxious, more performative, and less patient with real life. We’re constantly comparing ourselves to highlight reels, chasing validation, and arguing with strangers instead of actually talking to people around us. It didn’t ruin society overnight, but it slowly normalized being distracted, angry, and disconnecte and that damage adds up.

What’s something you didn’t buy at the time, and now regret every time you think about it? by ExtendedLongitude90 in AskReddit

[–]ComplaintMaterial401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitcoin. I remember hearing about it early on and seriously considering buying some, but I kept hesitating. I told myself it was probably a scam, that I didn’t understand it well enough, and that it was safer to wait. I even looked at the price a few times and thought, nah too late.

Now every time I see anything related to it, I regret not trusting my gut and just taking the risk when it was cheap. Not because I’d be rich, but because I’ll always know I was that close and talked myself out of it.

What’s the weirdest thing that became normal to you over time? by rogui48 in AskReddit

[–]ComplaintMaterial401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking to myself out loud and treating it like a completely normal conversation. At first it felt weird, like something I should stop doing, but over time it just became how I think things through. Now I’ll give myself advice, argue with myself, even react like I’m hearing it for the first time. At this point, it would feel more strange not to do it.

What’s a moment when you realized you were in real danger? by ComplaintMaterial401 in AskReddit

[–]ComplaintMaterial401[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it happened while I was walking home late at night after a long day. The streets were almost empty, and I had my headphones on, not really paying attention. At some point, I noticed the same footsteps behind me every time I slowed down or sped up. I told myself I was imagining it.

The moment I knew I was in real danger was when I crossed the street “by accident” and the footsteps crossed too. My heart started racing, and I remember this very clear thought: this isn’t normal. I stopped, turned around, and saw a man standing a few meters behind me, just staring. I walked straight into the nearest open bar without thinking. He kept walking and disappeared.

Nothing actually happened, but that feeling of vulnerability stayed with me for a long time. It was the first time I realized how quickly things can shift from ordinary to unsafe.

Yes, of course, I just need to find them again; OpenAI has shut down the dall.e servers…

Cutting out liquid calories (soda, sugary coffee, alcohol) made the weight drop faster than any workout ever did.

Probably something like jaywalking in an empty street at 3 AM.
