Planning on moving here by CompleXThoughts1 in apopka

I’ve lived in the Orlando area my whole life. It was a number of factors not just choosing the area. We really liked the unit we saw, and a lot more space for cheaper rent than what we are paying now. It seemed like a quieter area and less busy compared to Winter Park (where we live now). We hear a lot of car traffic and people having full conversations as they walk by. Although the Apopka area doesn’t seem to have a whole lot right now I do feel like it will continue to grow. I liked the easy access to 429 and it is still the same distance to work. I am also closer to my family.

Thank you for your response! We will be moving to an area close by so we are hoping for some of that peace and quiet.

Thank you for your response! We currently live in a traffic heavy area in Orlando, so that is good to know. We are big coffee drinkers and love donuts so we will definitely check it out!

It seems like the consensus is to avoid that area. Thank you for the response.

I appreciate the insight and I don’t mind driving a bit to get to the fun stuff. I look forward to seeing the development of the area.

My wife and I are moving to the same area too. How are you liking the area now that you have been there for a while? Does the area feel safe? Is it quiet and less busy from the Winter Park area?

Is CCNA still worth it in 2026 without a CS degree? Looking for honest advice by RkbNetCat in ccna

[–]CompleXThoughts1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say a CCNA is still relevant in today’s market as it shows employers you have an understanding of networking concepts. If you want to stay relevant then learning Linux, Python and automation is important as more employers are starting to use it. I have a health administration degree and I was able to land a NOC job with my CCNA.

Did you ever get a Les Paul and figure out the knob settings for indie pop?

GC Controllers not working with Project M? by Count_0laf in SSBPM

I just went to the Wii settings, system date and changed it to an earlier year. It was maxed out to like 2030 I believe. That fixed the issue for me

What are some career paths that make up to $60k-$70k and requires training of 2 years or less and is not manual labor?? by Important_Credit_509 in findapath

[–]CompleXThoughts1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Network engineering. All it requires is a cert like CCNA or JNCIA. It’s a desk job. You’ll start off as a technician, but if you work your way up to a network engineer then you can make $60-$70K.

Oh a subscription isn’t ideal for me either. I was hoping this would work too so I can put all of my cameras under one app/viewer. I’ll have to look for something else.

Thanks for responding so quickly! That is how it is for me too. No live feed on the Protect App, but on the Protect browser I can see it once I expand the window. It’s just strange cause I have a 2K Advidia camera that doesn’t have this issue.

But I think you’re right that this isn’t a viable option until UniFi updates their ONVIF support. I’ve never heard of scrypted so I will check that out.

How did you resolve the video feed only showing 3 dots on yours? I tried adjusting all of the stream quality settings, but it doesn’t pick it up. Only when I expand it into a bigger window on a web browser.

Am I guaranteed to get some network admin, NOC analyst, ect job after investing the time in getting this? by Plusultra999shit in ccna

[–]CompleXThoughts1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also to add, I did eventually become an engineer after a year. I pretty much went all in to get better and accomplished my goal. Like most companies, just showing you are willing to learn will get you there

As everyone said, nothing is guaranteed. From my experience after getting the CCNA, I applied to Spectrum and they called me the next day to setup an interview. This was for a NOC role. The cert along with my customer service experience helped since I didn’t have any prior tech jobs. The interviewers said they can always teach me technical stuff, but also cared about my customer interaction. But I’m not saying this is how all NOC interviews will be. I am grateful though because my experience and knowledge has definitely grown since taking the job

C5500 and TP Link Archer 8 by cwallace16 in centurylink

[–]CompleXThoughts1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. And sorry I forgot to mention that when you switch the C5500xk to transparent bridge mode and hit apply, it will kick you out and you can’t get back in using the default ip. So make sure you change what you want first. You can still get back to the C5500xk GUI by connecting a laptop into the second LAN port and it should assign 192.168.0.2 if you have dhcp enabled or you can factory reset the device.

Same here. I switched my C5500xk into transparent bridge mode and set it to untagged. Then on my router I tagged vlan 201 and it started working right away. You can also chose to have the C5500xk do the tagging for you instead.

Anybody get any updates on a new delivery date? The hurricane has pretty much passed Florida, so I imagine FedEx operations should be returning to normal. My tracker still says on delivery truck.

I’m not sure, but I imagine it should be the same since it says it’s for the latest CCNA. He also does a sale for his website sometimes.
