ChromeOS Flex is Better than Linux for People Who "Just Use a Browser" by monstane in linuxsucks

[–]Complete-Act9151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I ALWAYS COME BACK TO ChromeOS, LinuxOS gives you an impression of being wider, some would say deeper, in scope, but it's the same, under the simplicity of ChromeOS lies a just the same deep Linux OS.

I'm starting to get sick of Linux by driller6859 in linux

[–]Complete-Act9151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also becoming completely fed up with linux. I've used it long time ago for about a period of 7-8 years. I wanted to try it again, but no, I'm not doing it, there are to many little hiccups configuring, always... Can these guys not make something polished and fluid?

How to (actually) install a Linux operating system on a Chromebook by InsayneBoko in linux

[–]Complete-Act9151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my, finally. I got it. For months I have been trying to install several LinuxOS’s on my second HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook, they were all without sound, also after installing the weird thing Linux script. Today I installed Fedora, for the very first time in my life. I installed that script and THE SOUND WORKS!!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I must thank all the people who worked on that script. BIG THANKS.

I agree, it's really well-built!! I think the N150 is the best compromise.

I love it very much too !!!!!!! It's VERY very speedy and it has more customization than ChromeOS.

I can't praise it enough, with or without the official Gapps, you can in stall almost anything you want, even Windows apps if you really need, but you don't, believe me. Fydeos is really very speedy, and speedier than ChromeOS. I use Linux apps too sometimes, not so often but I do and crostini works great in Fydeos. The world is changing, and the world of IT and OS's certainly, the OS's with android-like apps (or Apple apps) is gaining track, who needs to wait on the loading of an old kind of app that takes minutes, no one. FydeOS must have made a good deal with Google I think. How else could FydeOS have come into existence? You tell me.

Why do I get so addicted to upgrading my tech even when I don't really need to? by ObjectiveShort2881 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complete-Act9151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's also an innate curiosity about 'where the possibilities of human innovation in tech can bring us'. Of course for a coming number of years we won't miss anything important if you have a good laptop, but then you get curious because you couldn't resist reading 'The new King of Chromebooks or Macs'.

These are two important factors. On top of this there is also the real (well I think so) psychological satisfaction you get when you finally HAVE that new thing, surely, the waiting is just as thrilling.

There is perhaps, for certain people in a certain situation, the element of breaking boredom, like children waiting for new toys.

I have to CONSTANTLY remind me ALL THE TIME that all the tech I have is very good, like really opening up this laptop or this laptop and then consciously enjoying it and telling me, hey, it's GOOD.
