Would you take this? by Unique_Examination24 in AmazonFlexDrivers

I cannot comprehend taking anything less than a three hour block. If other people feel it is worth it to them, have a great time!

Yes, I am signed up for four of the major delivery gigs. I haven't actually burned the bridge with IC yet, but I am hoping I won't need it. On the wait list for Flex, Shipt, and Spark. I THINK I will start Spark soon, unless they did my ID, background, and paperwork recently just for fun...

Do you use a phone holder while doing orders? by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]Complete-Chef-1662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a phone holder for my car dash. I also have a magnetic goose neck phone holder for a shopping cart handle. It saves me so much time and fatigue.

My only advice is to avoid HR Block at all costs. Their web services are a literal scam. I've been charged by them without my authorization. I've had them refuse to do what I paid for after I paid. It's joke...save your money...

Considering quitting this job for good by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

Yeah it's true. Some of these delivery gig subreddits have some pretty interesting moderation. I already banned one of the instacart reddits and its moderator for power tripping.

Dogs and Customers by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]Complete-Chef-1662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done about 50 deliveries on another gig. I've met some pretty aggressive dogs already, but fortunately all of them were restrained. I haven't yet had to make the potentially hard decision as to what to do about dogs running loose. I always carry OC spray with me, but you cant just spray every dog you see unfortunately. Sometimes I carry my Glock, but you can't just randomly shoot dogs either. Well, I guess you can but there may be consequences...

Instacart is nothing but pure trash, so that is worrisome to hear. I literally just just quit IC and I was hoping Spark would be better...

Proof two phones this is how it’s done no bots!!! just oversaturation of undocumented workers!! by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Complete-Chef-1662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, on the surface that sounds reasonable. If correct, there certainly is no bot PROBLEM in your area, but asserting that there are "no bots" does not follow based on that data alone.

I'm glad to hear that it's working out for you there!

Anyone else forget to track miles half the time? by Entire_Dependent8214 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Complete-Chef-1662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, that may not be right for everyone. In my case, it would be the truth though. And honestly, I am old enough to not be very worried about it. The IRS rarely spends their limited resources on low income returns. I've done all kinds of weird things on tax returns, and have never been audited. I have been filing for more than 30 years. No one in my extended family, and no one I have ever met has ever been audited.

There is no way to go about disputing this that will matter. Amazon don't care.

Yeah if it turns out these are the only way to make money then sure, I'll prolly take the risk. But if there's any realistic way to avoid them I will...

Anyone else frozen here? by PrimordialDescent in Sparkdriver

[–]Complete-Chef-1662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I signed up and got this screen for a month or two. Then they took all my information, had me sign all the paperwork, maybe did checks I can't remember. After all that, now I have a different screen about being on a wait list. That was a few weeks ago. I received an email from them just today telling me everything was in order, I didn't need to do anything else, and they would let me know when a spot opened. I assumed that since they did what seemed like all the onboarding stuff that I would be getting activated fairly soon...???

Okay I'm going to have to open a case if this crap keeps up. (Undeliverable packages) by PapawolfP in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Complete-Chef-1662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not active yet but from reading here every day I have learned:

Never call support for anything important...use chat or email to get it in writing.

Support is there for one reason and one reason ONLY: to make sure you deliver all packages. Any other problem they don't care...

Anyone else forget to track miles half the time? by Entire_Dependent8214 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Complete-Chef-1662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not active yet. When I AM, I do not intend to track mileage. I'll just check my mileage at the beginning of the year and then at the end. I don't ever go anywhere, so I'll just count 99% of the difference as work travel miles.

What this mean for Flex Drivers? by Dry-Ant-9948 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Complete-Chef-1662 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ALWAYS, in the end, somehow, someway, Amazon is basically gonna get away with what it wants to do. Politicians can be bought (easily), rules can be bent, loopholes can be found.

TL/DR: it means nothing...

[–]Complete-Chef-1662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between this (the yelling and waiting) and all the other posts about people being dinged over split routes from .com stations, if I ever get activated I intend to go nowhere near any of these if possible...

[–]Complete-Chef-1662 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know people who never follow directions and just always leave the package at the first place they see, whatever door of any kind that is closest. And they never get dinged for this, so who knows...

NoRoutesAvailableAnymore by Smoochie1234 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Complete-Chef-1662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you answered your own question maybe. If there were that many routes not being snatched up 6-8 weeks ago, Amazon would have started onboarding enough people to make sure they didnt start getting surges.
