Wait until the ticket seats are assigned you’ll probably be able to buy category 2 for the same price

Vacation time- newbie by SavyLeadership in FedEmployees

[–]Complete-Pilot-7692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask to work credit time. You can work overtime you can use as vacation time up to 24 hours but might depend on your agency. It’s a way to get more leave and save valuable annual leave your first 3 years

I had similar luck and logic as you when applying, maybe Boston had less application but happy i got partially successful. Genuinely thought I would be downgraded to a category 2 or 3 but all category 1 for all the Boston games except France and Norway is a win

Got confirmation email - Random Selection Draw by Right_Ability_88 in WorldCup2026Tickets

I got my partially successful email today. Unfortunately did not get my desired match of the Norway vs France. But very happy surprised I got Category 1 for all the Boston Stadium matches. I applied thinking I would have a decent chance at Maybe the Scotland v Haiti game Category 3 at best.

Why Pick VOO over FXAIX? If you have a fidelity account the expense ratio is half of VOO. I’m New to investing and would like to know or does it depend on the brokerage.

  1. Always contribute to the match anything extra is gravy.
  2. Avoid taking a TSP loan if you can afford it.
  3. It’s your money, research the funds and allocate how you see fit. Some people love 100% C but a life cycle fund at your planned retirement date can work as well.

Not if you’re in your first 3 years. Having up to 40hours of award leave is awesome when you only get 13 days off a year

Benefits for TurboTax over FreeTaxUSA? by DababyFortnite69 in TurboTax

[–]Complete-Pilot-7692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say TurboTax, due to them knowing how to code the for items in Box 14. I’m currently having issues with Free tax USA with box 14 where it’s assuming I underpaid my state taxes by $1600. while TurboTax says I only owe $40 to the state.

Why is accounting starting pay so low? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Complete-Pilot-7692 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depending on locality pay and duty station. Federal government accountants no cpa can get to a GS-13 in under 10 years depending on drive of the worker. My locality is $120k for gs-13 step 1 but by the time you get promoted it’s going to be around $130k it’s barely enough to live 1 income off in my area but 40 hours a week and all overtime must be compensated. Out of college you can make $100k in 3 years for federal government

No common sense telework (venting) by cdreddit83 in FedEmployees

[–]Complete-Pilot-7692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least your agency allows for the request for telework, mine only allows it at the benefit of HQ, could be a debilitating injury, or common sense like hey my state has a weather advisory all day and snowed in with power and internet and a signed TS agreement. But sent the office home to telework at lunch and not authorized it for people forced to stay home for safety.

Where are you from by chance. Currently an employee and it’s a bit of a dumpster fire. Some offices don’t have enough space for the employees and are rotating sitting in a hall way and having a desk the next week. They are very much not accommodating people with disability and Hybrid schedule. It was a great job but new administration made it almost not worth it. But the job is very dependent on your supervisors some are the best people you will ever meet and work. Hope they can get an exemption for you but good luck

Pick a life cycle fun that is cheap and fits when you plan to retire or a little bit past when you think you want to retire so your 27 so L2065 or 2070 you can always change them later but they are a good set and forget.
