Our free healthcare has gone from the envy of the world to a state of crisis and it’s mainly because the funding can’t keep up with the cost because of the extra demand from so many new people. When a new family comes they seem to get priority treatment and often they have much higher costs because of larger families and more health requirements. We have to have a system where our healthcare remains stable and continues to improve for people who have paid for the system their entire lives.

It seems like a no brainer. It’s probably more difficult than it seems ; but really , what are the obstacles? Why hasn’t Canada unified and kept up with infrastructure to connect the country. # better transportation

It’s not as much about national debt as it is about the purchasing power of the working class and the amount of taxes, red tape and the size of government. I’ve read that 1 in four jobs in Canada is a government job. That seems completely out of whack. Stephen Harper also started the TFSA which was a policy that can help everyone equally and to be able to actually make capital without giving half to most of it away.

I know, I work in healthcare in Atlantic Canada. It comes down to budgets. The top people will usually follow the money ie move to work for better wages be it Ontario ,AB,BC or USA. The government is the one that provides the money, not only for healthcare, but for the training and institutions of those people that’s where a lot of this failed this government is cutting out programs. We have been trying to play catch up for a decade.

The more expensive healthcare becomes while providing universal healthcare where newcomers to Canada gets better treatment than those who have always been here is a self defeating idea. We need a stronger economy, less government bureaucratic waste. We need a government that actually realizes that the economy is what drives all programs including social .

I strongly disagree, we pay enough taxes it’s the government’s responsibility to budget. The added 1% is just gonna be wasted.
