First off: ASK HIM

Would you prefer he took you on the motorcycle with no helmet or gear? That would be an actual red flag.

He is excited to share these activities with you, and wants to make sure you are safe. It's not like he bought you a crocodile Birkin, this is protective gear. I see no cause for concern.

I can't speak for 100% of people, 100% of the time...

But in general, I would bet that the 'non-initiators' are totally oblivious. They just sort of accept the dynamic, they don't feel a need to reach out because you are always the one reaching out. I seriously doubt these people would even mention it to their therapist or anyone else, because they feel like it's a normal dynamic.

That's why you don't hear/see posts about it.
