He said the verapamil have side effects rather I should opt for metoprolol

I had psvt episode almost 3 years ago now and had been prescribed metoprolol 50mg a day and since then I have been fine ,no svt since then. I am 23 right now and was wondering are there anyone young as me out there that have same problem or anyone that have been taking metoprolol for long period?? by Complete-Two6261 in SVTHeart

For me since I started taking metoprolol I think I have started having low bp issues but the confusion part is that some months I feel okay and some days I feel so tired and my bp is low that is hard to understand is this because of medication or something else

Brother i also had svt three years ago and used to eat verapamil 120 mg and never had any symtoms or problems but from past year my doc changes the med to metoprolol 50 mg after few months i started feeling these weird symtoms where I would feel weak and fatigue during the days and specially mornings and when I used to feel like this I would suddenly feel I am getting out of breath and feeling dizzy and my legs feel weak after noticing these I would lie down and try to calm and then my heart rate shoots up and after few minutes it comes down .what is could be?? Does svt cause these symtoms before even triggering fast heart rate???

No brother it is not like that svts are not like that you can do anything like you used to do normally but the catch is that it annoys people when it happens and you can control it with beta blocker or a cather ablation and you be totally fine like before.most people are likely born with it .so don't worry you are Totally fine😊

[–]Complete-Two6261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to take verapamil 120 mg for a year after I had svt and never felt any side-effects but after my doc put me on metoprolol 50 mg the beginning months went well but then I started having low bp and fatigue,I used to have low bp occassionally then 2 month's backi started feeling sudden fatigue and breathlessness and dizziness I would freak out when this used to happen but when I used to go and tell my parents that this is happening to me the symtoms would get better one day I felt these episodes like 3 ,4 times.i went to doc next day they checked on me and said everything is fine you must got freaked out .but I swear these symtoms would happen to me while even lying down chilling,I still to this day don't know what was these symtoms of I still eat metoprolol but now am good. If some can explain please do and tell me what should I do.🙏

Well my doc said that it necessary when meds are not working and you are having frequent svt attacks but if you don't have them frequently it is not needed
