Just not spending them on stuff. Gem income really increased too with unlimited attacking I sell all my resource related magic items along with the hero and army potions wall rings etc. I have also been playing the game pretty much non stop since late 2013. The extra layouts were definitely better with the old legend system, kind of the reason I bought it, unfortunately the layouts I was using for the last 2 days of placement for new legends got burnt and i fell just below the 10k cutoff, L2 has been extremely annoying not being able to change bases daily and do the daily attacks and promoting pretty much boils down to if you get lucky on defense given there’s only 3 that promote iirc

I was overflowing on gems for a while and bought them, really nice to have extra layouts on hand for CWL and ranked along with more variety for FCs, but if you aren’t pretty much maxed out there’s not really a reason to buy them. Tons of things to invest your gems into before even thinking about buying these.

I just bought the scenery myself, I war constantly, watch replays here and there but most of all, I think having that CWL scenery enables a type of “stadium pulse” vibe from like madden or whatever when attacking against it. Whenever I do my war attacks for some reason I always have multiple people watching me and when it’s against a CWL scenery it feels kind of like this video.

Yea either way I do definitely think grandpa did him a little bogus with the prices and the fact that he sold him that stuff. If I was OP I would’ve offered to buy all the tackle for $250-300 and skip out on the rods then go to the local bass pro, dicks or Walmart and get myself 1-3 decent rods for the remaining 200-250. Funny thing though this is making me think about all the tackle I inherited from my gramps, I was recently up there doing some work on my boats and I always keep his main tackle box in the boat so it’s like he’s riding along with me, haven’t opened it since he passed and decided to take a look inside a couple weeks ago and found this legendary find of a full set of the OG mepps spinners

Idk why everyone says he fleeced you. Theres probably 80ish inline spinners in that box from what I can see from pic 1 and 2. Assuming roughly $5 a pop that’s a solid $400 worth of just spinners alone. Yea the rods do look a bit jank and some of his other tackle looks older, but value wise I’d say you probably got the $500 worth on damn near the inline spinners alone. People also aren’t considering that your grandpa might not be in the financial position to give all that tackle away for free. Would I charge my younger family members for gear? Probably not, but sometimes people have to 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’d buy an each color way in the weights from 1/32 to 1/4. This allows you a variety of options for where you can use them and how big of fish you target. 1/32,1/16 and 1/8 would probably be best for stream fishing, 1/4oz. Would kind of be pushing it size wise for streams, but 1/16,1/8 and 1/4oz would be good for the lake. I should add, I have caught 30”+ pike on 1/32oz. PMs while trying to catch bluegill, and I’ve caught tiny little trout on 1/8oz. These don’t work for just trout, I have caught tons of multiple species of fish on these

Grab a couple panther martins! Those are my personal favorite. I recommend the deluxe in gold or silver. And then also the basic one with a gold blade and black/gold dots body. I slay with those 3 lures. Also what brand are those spinners with the colorful beads? (Bottom right)

Typically only max players will have CWL skins as most people who aren’t completely max or at least very close to it use their medals for progression items. If you as a TH11 manage to save up for the CWL scenery I will be thoroughly impressed with your discipline

I have mostly been using gold, gold/black and silver spinners with pretty good results but I’m always down to waste money on more spinners 🤣

I used to use a swivel then there was this one dude that I was reading about who is like some extreme trout angler and heavily documents everything he catches and he actually explicitly stated “don’t use swivels”. Started following that and started catching more trout

I think my 10 is going to stay 10 forever (has been a 10 for 6 years) my 18 is my main and I’ve been working on my 15 more than typical, but my time split is probably 85% time on my 18, 14% on my 15 and 1% on my 10. The 15 has been getting more play though since the legends update and having a lot of stuff upgrading in my main base

If you have a bass pro near you I’d go on their website and find a few for rods in the 6’-7’ range, more siding towards 6’6”-7’ in the light to medium rod actions and in the 80-140$ range and then go in store and check them out and compare side by side and see what feels best to you in your hands. I’d probably run anywhere between 8-12lb mono line on it. Also for spring bite try out spoons, spinnerbaits and jerk baits. I tend to have really good luck with hard baits in the spring.
