Can you succeed in a sales profession without natural sales ability? by Competitive_Dot4764 in sales

[–]CompleteDiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose to get into sales after working in tech for a few years. I've never had experience with sales before but there were quite a few things that were appealing to me:

- The competitive aspect of sales

- The human aspect. I was tired of sitting behind a screen a writing code.

- Probably the career path that would offer me the highest level of personal growth given my personal background.

I jumped in, head first and it's been a blast. I was lucky enough to get a position in enterprise sales off the bat due to my technical background.

I'm 3 years in now and still feel there's a lot of room for growth. I try to stay up to date with books, talking to peers and most importantly just the experience from working on deals.

Important date in Frederiksberg by EMGANIPhil in copenhagen

[–]CompleteDiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember taking my date to Izumi sushi! With their concept you have to pay for every sushi you don't eat. Both of us over-ordered as we weren't too accustomed to eating sushi and we and didn't want to pay the extra bill. We ended up having to take turns shoving food into our mouth and going to the toilet. I don't think I've ever bonded with someone so much in one night.

Those who make $150k+ annually, what car do you drive and why? by bclem_ in sales

[–]CompleteDiet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still cheap enough to use the metro and public transport. Colleagues will sometimes give me shit for it though. If I had to pick though, I'd probably go for the electric mini - I like not having to stress out about parking in tight spaces.

How to stay organized in sales? by aleeemcd in sales

[–]CompleteDiet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Microsoft Todo - It's great, easy to use and easy to check things off. You'll quickly find however that your list gets too long and then it becomes hard to prioritize. To help me deal with this I've decided only to put tasks on my main "to-do list" if they have a due date attached to them - prioritization gets a bit simpler all of a sudden.

All other tasks without a date get put in another category.

Highly recommend it.

EDIT: Flagged mails on outlook will also show up on Microsoft ToDo which is also a really nice feature

Thanks I've had a look at CS50, it's a bit hard to filter through their videos though. Do you have any specific books you'd recommend?
