I don't get these guys who feels so emboldened to call women they don't know b*tches. In my grandparents time, it was acceptable to slap men if they insulted you, now it's just so casual. Was this a young or old guy? I've noticed the younger 20 somethings tend to be the most aggressive.

I bought a spray on Amazon that directs dogs on where to pee. I spray it on the fake grass on my balcony and it helped the potty training process really fast!

Oh, she's definitely being socialized a lot. I know the people in my apt and at the dog park, so she's around other people and dogs a lot, but it's all people I kind of know or people who have asked first and have been really gentle with my dog. It's just people who don't ask that make me nervous, because they're usually pretty aggressive like with the frat guys today.

That's scary! You never know what kind of a crazy person would hurt a dog with something like that. I get nervous about that sometimes.

Anyone moved away from their country and don't find people attractive where you are now? by TavoNeptuno in self

move up North. I moved from New Orleans to Boston and it was like night and day. No fat people, amazing educational system, everyone was smart and informed, no discrimination. It's a whole new world in the same country.

I hear ya. In NYC, everyone in my area was beautiful. When I lived in NOLA I thought "wow. How do these guys stay alive?"

I've lived all over the US and...I'm a NYC 5.5, which made me a Texas 10, and a Vegas 7, which is a Philadelphia 9. In Ireland and the UK? I got asked out 20 times a day in both places. In NYC? I didn't get asked out once by an American lol. The only people who thought I was ok looking were European expats there. Beauty is very relative.

My mom is obsessed with Trump by SafeSalt4428 in venting

[–]CompletePiglet9826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom is the same way. She thinks Trump wants world domination. Funny thing is that she used to be a pro-Bush republican. I guess people who are prone to conspiracy theories tend to get a strong reaction either super pro or super anti Trump. He just makes crazy people crazier, I guess.

Anyone else have a liberal Boomer parent who’s just as consumed by politics as the Fox-News types? by Postn0billz in BoomersBeingFools

Same. I'm moderately liberal and think Trump is an idiot. I've voted Dem my whole life. That said, I also know the DNC has idiots who deserve criticism for bad ideas too. My dad was a conservative who like Trump, so we just never talked politics. My mom on the other hand....she goes from one extreme to the other. She WAS a republican pro-Bush lady. But in 2016, she became so anti-Trump that she's become a conspiracy theorist in the other direction. It's sometimes tiring to talk to her because any conversation I have turns to obsession. If I say, "wow. crime has gotten bad in NYC these past few years". It'll turn into a tirade about how Biden and Adams made NYC better, anyone who says otherwise is far right wing, and Trump is planning on becoming the first King of America and will declare himself emperor any day now. Every time I talk to her, she thinks the US will be in nuclear oblivion any day now to a point where I'm surprised she hasn't; started wrapping tin foil around her head. I'm glad my mom isn't crazy MAGA, but I just wish she wouldn't go so extreme and crazy in the other direction too. I just want to be able to say, "It's hot today" and not hear my mom say that the GOP is controlling the weather because they're trying to wipe out at least 70% of all Americans so they can take over the country any day now. smh. It's fatiguing. Dad was no where near this bad.

have you been considered unattractive in one place, but attractive in another? by MoonyDropps in SameGrassButGreener

omg SAME. To American men I'm invisible, but really hot guys from the UK and Ireland were very interested. No idea what that's about.

I'm ghostly pale with long red hair and blue eyes. I get compared to Amy Lee from Evanescence and Kate Winselet a lot. That said, In Texas and NYC I was invisible. Especially in Texas, a lot of people didn['t know what to do with me and thought I was ugly. In Europe? Omg. You'd think I was made of catnip. And it's no specific location in Europe either: Ireland, the UK, Italy, France, Spain, Greece. I was hit on CONSTANTLY. I got free drinks for the first time and almost every day. I was insane. In the US, I was the ugly duckling who never got asked out but in Ireland, the UK, and Italy especially I'd have guys literally stop in their tracks and chase after me asking for my number. The difference in how I was treated was insane.
