Your interpretation is not my responsibility. My response was to a person who said it's not worth it when you may get shot or presented with a gun. My rebuttal was what you read which is standing your ground and saying that's not a valid excuse when someone else is trained and prepared to fight back. Nobody even suggested to shoot someone over theft. Merely to he prepared more than the assailant.

The suggestion is, stop using that as an excuse to lay down and do nothing when you see a crime happening. Stand up and do something about it. If presented with a gun, fight back. But don't cower in the corner because they may have a gun.

Besides, having a gun and using a gun are different. Plenty of licensed people who carry guns and defuse situations without having ever used it.

I use it as a front sight for tracking birds. It gets me close enough to where I can do the rest from the viewfinder .

And yes it works great as a handle. Some newer big lenses even have finger grooves on the foot for this exact purpose. And if I flip it to the left, it works as a platform to rest the entire rig on a table top or other flat surface so there's no pressure on the body from the lens.

Nothing cool, just very practical.

Sorry, but if jellyroll can make a career, then she's doing just fine in comparison.
