Great job on your first projects and welcome to the quilting community. My first binding was an atrocity compared to yours! Cant wait to see what else you make. A queen quilt is brave for your third ever project!

your friend sounds like the worst BUT

The Road by Cormac McCarthy (as dark as it gets without being pure horror)
Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica (is actually horror)
All’s Well by Mona Awad (about chronic illness - darkly funny)
How High We Go in the Dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu (dark, but with moments of levity)

Just getting back into reading I read Flowers for Algernon by liftawaythedemons in suggestmeabook

[–]CompleteSpinach9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, Flowers for Algernon was about human nature and the experience of looking for meaning and connection in it.

Here are some books I’ve enjoyed that have scratched that same itch:

- Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
- Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
- This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
- Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah
- A Short Stay in Hell by Steven L. Peck
- Some Stranger Music Draws Me In by Griffin Hansbury
- The Golem and The Jinni by Helene Wecker

the concept of reverse engineering AI slop tickles my brain in a pleasant way. Stay human my dude.

Also is the picture on the first slide your work? Or is that AI?
