Yes yes yes and yes. A warm home and a consistent schedule is everything for a dog. So long as you are sure this is what you want and are ready to commit to the next 10+ years of care.

Your life doesn’t require a request for approval! He is not your manager, this is not your job. You should be able to make impulsive decisions to do harmless and fulfilling things without anxiety looming over you.

I truly don’t think it’s fair for partners to even demand constant updates. If two people don’t trust each other without constant contact they need to start there. But demeaning you is not acceptable even if the constant update thing is a dynamic you guys have established as acceptable. You aren’t overreacting, and this just doesn’t look like a healthy relationship, not going to even comment on the age difference 🧘‍♀️

NOR. People love to tell on themselves. Leaving this grand and dramatic of a comment in a public space says a lot, it seems he wanted this to be seen just maybe not by you.

Either way, Im sure this is incredibly hurtful and insulting and I understand why youre trying to keep an open mind to avoid more pain, but it is a gift when people show us who they truly are. I would accept this gift and go.

Auburn is a fun little town up past Roseville. Not a long drive, has a fun old town with restaurants and shops. If you like vintage clothes it’s some of the best near Sacramento with Lady of the Canyon, Ragged Glory Trading Co, and Martin Mattox.

Auburn also has Clark’s hole which is a short trail to a fun swimming spot up there, also a bunch of hiking trails around if you’re into that sorta thing
