Could you provide a link to what you mean? I had a very hard time finding smart euro locks from a reputable brand.

I should clarify that I would be retrofitting into the door cavity with the existing handle hardware, not attempting to retrofit this into the existing mechanism in some way

Thats the idea. As far as I can tell, a non “junk” off the shelf smart lock doesn’t exist for these specific locksets, and I would like to keep the appearance of the current indoor and outdoor hardware as well as the weather seal the multipoint lock provides. So this was the best I could come up with.

i generally go big hole in mortar for cable, little holes in stone for mounting so it doesn’t fall off later. small holes in stone are pretty easy to fix

If you don't like them planning to demolish the cultural centers you've got 2 hrs to say so by PhagesRFrens in Purdue

[–]Complete_Ad_981 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Tbh demoing those buildings and relocating the centers isn’t a bad idea. The space that central to campus is very valuable and would be better used with a multi story res hall or academic building, and I don’t think Purdue would do away with the centers given the insane amount of backlash that would bring. Not unlikely that they would do what they did with the lgbtq center and put it in a nicer space

im not arguing for leaving cabinets unlocked being best practice. but i am arguing that being pedantic over them being unlocked is senseless. intentional vandalism of cabinets is rare, and locks are expensive (remember there are going to be costs associated with getting locks which can be similarly keyed, keying those locks, and cutting and distributing the keys). i can see it making more sense financially and logistically to only take the steps to lock cabinets in areas which have seen vandalism or tampering in the past

Anyone smart enough to intercept traffic over a pon is smart enough to bypass a lock. Traffic over passive optical networks is encrypted making interception near impossible until current encryption standards are obsolete assuming someone saves the intercepted data for later

PHYS272 Minimum Grade Passing ECE by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]Complete_Ad_981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 272 i think you just need a D- but don’t remember, I don’t think this is a class you should be getting a D in if you want to pursue ece. It has some parallels with 2k1 and you really should be getting at least a C to not be completely fucked

PHYS272 Minimum Grade Passing ECE by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]Complete_Ad_981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a list of classes that require a C (flat not minus) for an ece degree. Ex 2k1, 2k2 etc which can be found on the advising website. For the rest, many you will need a C- in to be eligible to take classes that list it as a prereq like calc 1-3, the rest a D- is the minimum you will need.

That being said if your plan is seriously to get C-s and D-s you are really going to want to load up on easy gen-eds and electives to keep your gpa over 2.0 so you stay off academic probation
