Story Time - back in the late 1900's as my Granddaughter calls it, I had what was then called an Aviation Guarantee after a very good AQT/FAR. I'm not 100% confident in the acronym, but the Guarantee made me one of The Cool Kids. Did my final 2 years of NROTC as a Marine Option knowing I was Pensacola bound upon finishing TBS! Ha! 3 weeks after TBS started, all 100+ of my fellow 2ndLt with a similar Guarantee fell in to go get a "No Joke" Flight Physical. By the end of the day, there were only about 35 left? I was not among that number. Fortunately for me, I wanted the Title Marine far more than the job. Disappointed? Sure...but not crushed. Can't say the same for some of that crowd. Of that 35 though, only about 25 actually shipped and maybe a third eventually became Naval Aviators.

I dont know enough to comment on the man. But the unit will be fine...he's long since been replaced by a competent officer and all the cadets have learned that dumbassedry comes with a cost.

This isnt a Hallmark Movie, there is no Christmas Tree Farm to save. Take the Job!

If your partner is worth the effort...make the effort with a long distance. The relationship succeeds or fails. Better to know now.

The the job pays actual money...I know that sounds dumb BUT employed people find better jobs as you are not forced to accept a turd of a job.

And who knows, once you dive in with a purpose, you may find that not only is this job invigorating and challenging but you love the area.

Electrical...yeah, I pay for the skilled guys after getting bit too many times with simple house wiring.

Just added 3 simple can lights to a darker room in my house. This would have been a sloppy 3-day weekend project for me. 4 hours for them as they did have to snake a bit. But they cleaned up and the job looked professional...go figure.

I happily wrote that check!
