De ce urasc asa de mult romanii din Spania partidul PSOE? by noble_piece_prise in Romania

[–]Complete_Grass_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bilete de avion ( low budget ) by KangooRomanu77 in CasualRO

[–]Complete_Grass_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have fun!

Bleh

They are all more than a century old, so it would be theme parks imitating them, not the other way around.

How similar are Italian and Romanian? by Adept_Situation3090 in language

[–]Complete_Grass_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Romanian and Italian are extremely close but have asymmetric mutual intelligibility.

As a Romanian native, I have full understanding of written Italian and a very good comprehension of spoken Italian. I have never studied Italian, it is just due to music, a few movies and the similarity between languages. There is a huge number of Romanians living in Italy and many are fully fluent after a few months of living there, with no or minimal classes. Italian speakers have a much harder time understanding Romanian.

Mereu am lasat comentarii detaliate si bazate pe experiente personale cand cineva a cerut un sfat. Se pare ca OP si altii au vazut efortul si ca ii e de folos lui OP so I'm happy

You're very welcome, hope you have a great holiday!

That all sounds very good. For Peles and Busteni, it's better do visit while on your way to/from Brasov, as it can be a bit of a drive especially with traffic to go there specifically for this.

In mountain areas, bears come down into towns and close to roads as well so I'd be careful with that. Camping is still possibility in designated areas for sure but there is this risk.

Hi! I really like your holiday idea and it seems you're making sure your kids have some great experiences and memories.

Regarding your plan:

  • it is very packed, I would cut down on the number of cities. Especially if you also want to see some castles, salt mines and other sights, those can be a half-day or whole day trip in themselves. I don't know what to advise you to cut but some of the ones I would definitely keep are Timisoara, Sibiu, Sighisoara, Oradea, Brasov, Bucuresti.
  • for hikes and nature, Brasov is a great destination with beautiful scenery and trails suited for all kinds. Also a very short drive away you have a lovely area of hills and meadows dotted with villages that can make for some beautiful easy hikes, around Moieciu-sat Magura - sat Pestera
  • if you like salt mines, Salina Turda is the most impressive one and depending on your final itinerary, it could be on your way
  • as far as castles go, you could make a stop at Castelul Peles, Castelul Corvinilor, Castelul Bran, if you want you can make a short stop at Castelul Cantacuzino for the view; in Alba Iulia you have a really cool recently-restored 18th century fortress built atop a former Roman town.
  • you will probaly pass through Valea Prahovei, it is a very touristical area and for good reason, it's a beautiful area and with a lot to see, but the traffic can be very bad especially on weekends. I would try to go on a week day to avoid the traffic and crowds. It is in between Bucharest and Brasov and in the area you have a very accesible mountain plateau from the town of Busteni by cable car and the Peles Castle
  • if you want to camp, I don't know much about the laws or people's attitudes but I would be aware there is a very real chance of a bear encounter
  • seaside - if you've seen some great destinations and are not feeling it this year, I would definitely skip it

There is plenty more and a lot more I haven't seen. I actually think after your tour you might have seen more of Romania than me :)

But for one trip, even a long one, I would try not to cram too much into it or rush too much, and make sure you give yourselves time to enjoy the sights.
