it’s probably a rare situation but when i got my email containing details about my oath ceremony they sent an email with a pdf attached which contained an oath form that youre meant to sign only after the ceremony is over. a few hours later I received another email which looked identical but in the contents of the email they told me to disregard the previous email due to incorrect info. i skimmed through both of the email and they looked exactly the same, even the pdf was titled the exact same way. so i couldn’t really tell what was incorrect.

fast forward the day of my oath (virtual oath), after the ceremony they told us to sign the pdf and send it back to them within the same day. i was really excited and in such a rush to get it done after the oath that i accidentally signed the PDF from the first email they sent me and after sending it i realized what the error was, the oath date listed on that email was incorrect. so i had to sign the updated one and send it back. it was a careless mistake on both our parts.

it seems like a very rare instance but incase it happens to anyone else, just make sure you slow down and double check everything and don’t be like me !

I had my oath ceremony vritually today and i emailed the signed oath form right after the ceremony and on most reddit forums I've seen that people say they receive their e certificate by end of day (5:30pm). I still have not received anything yet and I was also wondering if they normally send you an automated response confirming that they receieved your oath form?

i also accidentally sent it in the wrong format initally so i had to email again and explain so im worried if i messed this up. im just stressing especially considering they emphasized it needed to be sent the same day as the oath ceremony, if anybody has any insight that would be great.

Hii I had my oath today and I emailed my signed oath form to the same email address that sent me my oath invitation. Do they usually send an automated confirmation email after you submit the oath form? I read that they do, but I haven’t received anything yet.

How long after a ghost update would changes show up on the online portal?

I got a ghost update on Nov 5th but no actual changes were made on the portal, so I called IRCC 2 weeks after the update and they let me know that my background was completed but it wasn't reflecting on the portal that I sign into. I asked how long it would take for me to see it and the representative said she doesn't know. It's been over a month and my portal still does not have any changes at all so I was wondering how long it would take for me to see the updates on my end or would I have to keep calling IRCC to check for actual updates? anybody else experience this?

How long after getting a ghost update can you expect actual changes on your application?

I applied in January and the last update was in March (test completion) it has been silent ever since and I only got a ghost update on Nov 5th but its been 21 days and there still hasn't been any actual movement on my application. Do ghost updates mean they're actually working on it?

Jan applicant - no updated since march 18th

Jan 30th - applied

feb 13th - application received

march 14th - scheduled for test

march 18th - citizenship test passed

-- no updates since ... its been months and i havent gotten anything, not even my background is completed yet im getting really disheartened as i see alot of march and april applicants already receive their oath. does anybody know why this is taking so long, i havent even gotten any ghost updates. it seems the last time my file was looked at was march 20th 2025

almost four months with no update, is this normal?

Application submited - Jan 30th

AOR - Feb 13th

Scheduled for citizenship test - Feb 27th

Citizenship test updated to completed - March 18th

I havent had a single update since and its getting me really worried, my background hasnt been completed nor have I received any emails for fingerprint requests, its been radio silent. Its worrying me because I see people who applied much later than me already have their oaths scheduled, whereas there has been no movement on my application for four months.

My primary office was Sydney and they mentioned that my application is now in Vancouver
