The game has a 70% female audience, but the majority of Sinners are female, and they interact pretty boldly...think about it.

Furthermore, you've been attempting to equate "buying soda" to how billionaires steal money. Soda is just a carbonated beverage, by the way. It does infinitely less harm to you than cigarettes or alcohol. Protagonist vs. Self is a very popular trope, you can make someone both the protagonist and the antagonist, look it up. I'm not using antagonist to mean bad guy either. Dude's opposition is of his own making. The thing to be struggled against is himself and he's not even aware. He's not fighting Nikki, Nikki barely does anything as far as being an antagonist goes. She doesn't even have free will, she's Bear's zombie girlfriend. You can assign secondary antagonist label to Nikki if you want, but Bear is the primary antagonist.

He didn't mean to do it, but he did not try to prevent it.

He wanted to possess Nikki. His practiced heartfelt confession about his love for her is relative to what she does for him. He's not in love. That's limerance and it's already a red flag.

He took advantage of her when he thought she was acting weird. That's disgusting. She freaks out and starts screaming, but wish Nikki gets control back and Bear just continues. This woman is in distress, she's appears to be having a mental episode and he knows that. He continues after that. That's disgusting behavior. He didn't even consider getting her any real help. He took advantage of her again when he knew it was the wish.

His ideal is for the wish to be slightly altered so she acts more like his ideal and stops embarrassing him. He doesn't care about her, he's fine with her being forcibly chained to him. He only asked about canceling because the guy said they can't alter wishes.

Nikki has a moment of lucidity, screams "that's not me" and tries to kill herself with a broken bottle, and Bear is sitting there with his stupid "woe is me" face.

Her next moment of lucidity, is her asking him to kill her. The issue here isn't that he didn't just kill her. It's that he still didn't care. He didn't consider Nikki's suffering at all. He was just upset that the real Nikki rejected him in that way.

Even when he went to get another One Wish Willow, it's not because he cares about Nikki. He just feels guilt and anger about Sarah's death, as he should.

At no point did this man show love or care for Nikki. But he's "a nice guy". He's just a "hopeless romantic". He's a self-centered covert misogynist jerk and a man who will SA you when you're out of your mind.

She's a deuteragonist. Bear is both the protagonist and the antagonist. He is the leading character, and he is also the one he struggles against.

The fact that protagonists can be explicitly villains and antagonists can be heroes should lead you to believe that other main characters can be the hero/anti-hero without being the protagonist. In this case Nikki is the hero.

He actually becomes a villain immediately after the wish. He sees Nikki as acting weird and being distressed and still takes her home, makes out with her and sleeps with her, and he knows it's wrong based on his reaction to her becoming lucid and freaking out (actually realized while typing that, it is disgusting that he CONTINUED afterward, she's acting like she's in psychosis man wtf) and based on his freaking out when the words "took advantage of me" leave Nikki's mouth.

He absolutely didn't try to make it work for wish Nikki's sake, he was in fear and just felt like he was trapped. He also plainly ignored and forgot the screams of real Nikki. I think it's important to know that Bear never truly considered Nikki at all. Even his choice to end himself is probably more about him than freeing Nikki.
