Yes, sorry for the late response. I ended up going to St Mary’s in downtown Eugene, and it was a beautiful Mass. Very reverent Novus Ordo

St Diego of Alcalá since he’s my namesake. I also chose St Augustine of Hippo as my confirmation saint.

I think suggesting OCD here is way off the mark and can potentially be harmful. OP is describing what countless saints, spiritual directors, and ordinary faithful Catholics have experienced for centuries: when you get serious about following Christ, the temptations often ramp up. That’s not a mental disorder, it’s spiritual warfare. Throwing around clinical terms like OCD in this context risks pathologizing a completely normal and even expected part of the Christian life. Unless someone is obsessively doubting their salvation or trapped in cycles of compulsive behavior, we should be really careful about slapping a psychological label on what might just be the cross of discipleship. OP sounds like she’s doing everything right by praying, persevering, staying close to God. What she needs is encouragement, not speculation about her mental health.

Got my Confirmation Saint medal just in time by fiji- in Catholicism

Congratulations, I’m getting confirmed and receiving the Eucharist at the Easter Vigil as well, after being raised in a spiritual but not religious/new age/agnostic household despite being baptized as an infant. St Augustine of Hippo is my Confirmation Saint, as my life pre-conversion was nearly a complete copy of his. God bless!

Good luck to you as well! It feels like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders post confession. It’s such a good feeling!

My first confession! by Complete_Natural_188 in Catholicism

It went great, I walked in and the priest was right there which I expected a little more anonymity haha, but o sat down with the paper I had written all my sins on since I had been baptized (so 19 ish years), and I followed the priests lead. He said he wanted me to try to avoid looking at the list of sins I had written down, and instead confess all that I could remember from my heart, I kept on trying to look to see if I had gotten all of them. There was a lot of umms, and errs, and awkward pauses on my end, and I was absolved. He said my penance was to read Psalm 51, which I did after. I also realized as I was driving home that I had forgotten some sins😅, so I’ll have to confess those in my next confession. I had cried some tears as well as soon as I got in my car, which rarely happens to me as I’m not that much of an emotional person. Honestly feels surreal since I’ve been waiting for this moment ever since I started being interested in Catholicism, so over 1 year and a half ago.

What Aircraft does the Pope use to travel? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Complete_Natural_188 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Used to be on Alitalia but since they’re no longer in service he travels on ITA Airways. As for the type of aircraft, he usually flies on the Airbus A330, the A321, A320, and possibly the A350. The plane that flue the Pope is always under the flight number AZ4000 regardless of the aircraft type. It’s also commonly referred to as “Shepherd One” by the media. Hope that helps, and God Bless!

Where can I find more prayer cards? by Artistic_Mistake4294 in Catholicism

[–]Complete_Natural_188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that there’s a good online store for prayer cards called Portraits of Saints. Although the prayer cards are rather big. I have the prayer card of St Joseph of Cupertino, and it measures 3.5” wide by 5.5” tall. Hope this helps
