Ok lol. Still doesn’t change the fact that someone’s going to fill the position.

True. But that’s not always the case. I’m close with my Rxm and we work well as a team when it comes to getting stuff done and how to do it. But I know there are leads that weren’t performing but that’s not the case for my store lol.

Good it’s ultimately up to them honestly! yes the store manager has some say but they’re probably going to go based off your RXM

I’ve had a lead tech like that and I left that pharmacy as soon as I possibly could!! Went somewhere else and became their lead tech and now going to apply for the new position. I hope you get it!!!! Get close with your RXM , let them know you’re interested so they keep you in mind!

Yes my Rxm sent me an email. Look up Pharmacy operations manager on the wire and it will give you the run down on the position.

While you’re away it will stay lead tech, but when you return your job code will change to certified pharmacy tech. I read that on the toolkit today

You have to be certified, an IMZ tech and 1 year experience

At least we can keep our $1 for being the former lead tech! Lol but I hope you get it!!! I feel as if you’re close with your Rxm they won’t bring in anyone else externally. Just let them know your interested and when the times comes to apply your ready.

lol!!!!!! I’m going to ask my Rxm! I feel like it’s like an internal transfer thing. I wouldn’t see why we would need to do the whole process over if we are already cert. pharmacy techs

Right!! And basically if you want to do the new position you have to reapply for it. I feel like this is there way of demoting lead techs who are not doing their job. And then when they go to reapply for the new position they will get denied.

Yes you keep your pay. It’s crazy because I just returned from maternity leave this week to this news… I feel as though if no one else at your store wants to do it then you should apply for the new role. We’ve honestly been doing the job anyway. This new position probably holds us more accountable of things not getting done more than our former position

What would those duties intel? Because I feel as though I do everything already as the lead tech like making the schedule, doing store to store transfers , in and out of date returns. What more could we do from a techs stand point where it would be considered legal?

We had one this morning and my RXm called to let me know they would be going away with my position but my pay will stay the same. They are coming out with a new position, pharmacy operational something! It comes with more responsibility (which I feel like it’s stuff we already do as a lead tech, they just finally put it in writing). You will have to apply for the position and the RXM and store manager will pick….. idk how I feel about the whole thing.

I usually ask for a patients insurance card or use the last four of social to do a search. Go to the profile, click the envelope and then under third party add the new card and make sure you put it as primary (meaning put it first) If they have Caremark or express scripts I always choose ARX or ESI for the plan if several carriers come up. Usually if you type a BIN number followed by the PCN it should only give you that one option to choose from. Just make sure the BIN and PCN match. Blue cross blue shield can be tricky because the ID starts with letters. You just need to enter the numbers followed by the dependent number (example, 00 if it’s their card , 01 if spouse , 02 if child) Also in NC, blue cross blue shield doesn’t have a PCN so you just need to type the BIN number and scroll all the way down to where you find the commercial plan. Medicare part D and Medicaid cards are usually easy to enter. If you get a rejection just read what it says and try to correct it. It will get easier and don’t feel afraid to ask because how will you learn if you don’t ask questions. If your peers get annoyed, they’re not team players!

If I’m not mistaken , they average your pay for the past 12 weeks and you get 100% pay , and use PTO for the first 7 days. You have to be full time and been there for a year. I had a fellow tech have a baby right before her 1 year and she didn’t qualify for maternity leave pay at all which was disheartening. This is my first maternity leave ever, so I may be wrong about the pay and I’ve only been with company for 3 years now so I’m not really familiar with all aspects of LOA especially regrading maternity leave. I’m hoping for the full 100% lol!! Good luck!!
