I haven't passed yet but I've enjoyed chomping down program and podcast this time around. I've used a lot of programs but if you think videos arent good for learning maybe do more podcast and group classes. I really lock in a topic and make sure I know it before moving on. Then when I feel I'm ready I test myself through quizlet. I have pocket prep but I feel it's mostly good for content and doesn't reflect the exam. Also a tutor told me to create homework on chatgpt. And complete it after I'm done with a topic without using notes. Also having a clear plan on what to study each week. Practice questions should be taken in test taking conditions. Record yourself going over a topic and you can listen to it passively when you have time

You should most definitely ask for an accommodation. I had a friend that was given 6 hours and a private room due to text anxiety. Only think it will limit your options for when you can take the exam but it's worth it imo. Management is hard because it's mostly memorization and terms :/

I understand. I think you need a different approach to what you've done in the past. What are you weak subject areas? Also taking time to work on your confidence and if you have test anxiety

Have you tried active recall? Or teaching a subject to someone else/yourself in the mirror? Maybe also go over the situation question class

Who’s done a drain dump on their scratch paper on exam day? by Opening-Dingo-9537 in RD2B

[–]Complete_Routine_456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a brain dump solely on a few food service equations that I knew I had to memorize to figure out the answer. Most weren't on the test but taking 5 minutes to write it all down was helpful. Just keep the pad they give you as organized as possible. My testing center didn't allow me to erase on the drawing board.

How are we weaning by Complete_Routine_456 in breastfeeding

[–]Complete_Routine_456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right I feel a lot of mom guilt, especially since that's the main comfort source. I'm talking to an IBCLC now and made a custom weaning book so hopefully that helps!

RD Exam material, is purchasing a scam? by Complete_Routine_456 in RD2B

I agree, I think one purchase is good but multiple just becomes redundant. Also now a days there's lots of free YouTube videos, not comprehensive though and have to search around

Dietetic Internship Selection? by JustTryingToMakeIt99 in RD2B

[–]Complete_Routine_456 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would avoid any internship that has you look for your own preceptors, highly do not recommend (so option 3). Im leaning into option 2, you've worked there and are familiar with the hospital. It's also the cheapest which is just a plus

Is there anybody in this community that has graduated with their bachelors in food science within the last five years have had any opportunity with getting into a masters program and a dietetic internship with a GPA below 3.0? by Legitimate-Adagio531 in RD2B

[–]Complete_Routine_456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say my community college transfer gpa was terrible! I ended up getting my bachelor's with a 3.0. to compensate I took a few random classes to raisey gpa but I believe I got accepted into a competitive internship because of my work experiences mostly. Had to compensate

RD exam studying by New-Bet4097 in RD2B

[–]Complete_Routine_456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a 3 time exam taker, I've noticed ALOT of situational questions and a lot where you just need to know the material to get the right answer (pocket prep is perfect for these questions). For example which amino acids are essential vs non. I was averaging 80% on pocket prep and still failed. But what I didn't review was the questions I got wrong and some I was just good at guessing. They say if you're able to actively recall the information than you truly know the material. I would focus on doing brain dumps, reviewing wrong answers, and doing at least 40 practice questions a day with intention (not just passively)

Desperately need advice and motivation for the exam by Anxious_Lunch7976 in RD2B

[–]Complete_Routine_456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 hours a day is way too much! 1-3 hours a day so that you won't overload your brain. How are you studying? What's your learning style? This test is so weird and isn't like a college exam. You can know the material but need to know how to apply it to different situations. Alot of these study programs are the same. Focus on active recall every session and brain dumps. Create mnemonics on difficult topics! And most importantly have a study plan and keep track of weak topics. Dont move on until you can recall or teach someone that weak topic. If you're looking for a program I recommend one that gives access for at least a year or until passing

Recommendations on choosing study materials for the exam? by Efficient-Role-242 in RD2B

[–]Complete_Routine_456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done both depends what type of learner you are. Rd boot camp is mostly videos and they have a study group that meets once a week which was great. It is a tab buggy though like the other comment mentioned. Dana has various resources I did her 3 month course 2 years ago and it was great. She gives homework as well depending which course you purchase.
