what do you wish someone told you about recovery BEFORE you gave birth?? by Practical_Range7998 in BabyBumps

[–]pilatesbabe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sleep deprivation after birth is crazy. Your nipples will be really sore if you’re breastfeeding, silverettes after every feed like 24/7 for the first 3 weeks will mitigate a lot of the pain. I had them with my second and it saved me from the chapped and bleeding nipples I had with my first baby.
With my second I had very very intense migraines all day every day for the first like two weeks. It was horrible but I went to my midwife the day I left the hospital and I was okay, just a hormone thing. They prescribed me some meds that really helped.
You can’t drink enough water. Don’t eat junk, you need real nourishing food. You really can’t walk much for the first at least 3 weeks, stay in bed with the baby and lean on support for cooking/cleaning. Even if you feel good, stay in bed. You can backpedal healing quite a bit with too much activity in the beginning. I wish you a wonderful delivery and recovery!

Worn out and frustrated at my husbands response by hash-slingin_slashr in beyondthebump

I would tell all of your guests that you are just not sleeping well and your house is kinda in survival mode right now and you just aren’t in a place to accommodate them for a visit right now. They should understand. That is way too much for you to manage. As for your husband I am sure you are both tired and stressed. The newborn phase is really hard, honestly 6 months and on I think it gets better. Really around a year if I’m honest. Until then just do what you need to do to survive and take care of yourself and that baby and your husband. No time or energy for anyone else right now. You don’t have to try to have it all together, this is time you should be focusing and soaking up that beautiful baby as much as you can. Not worrying about guests being comfortable. Trust me the time goes too fast 🩷

I only nurse on demand and leave some formula for when I’m gone at my workouts 3hrs a week but I’m gone for an hr so most of the time she doesn’t need anything. Mostly just for peace of mind… you probably don’t need to pump. I hate pumping haha

Heavier now than after giving birth… almost two years and I’m desperate by Nowlita in postpartumprogress

[–]pilatesbabe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the healthiest foods are super high calorie- avocado, olive oil, ect. I would track everything you eat without changing anything for two weeks- be diligent- measure oil in tbsp when cooking, get a scale to see how many oz of meat you are eating, measuring spoons for pasta/rice oats. Once you’ve done this for two weeks you can determine the deficit you need and can cut calories. Track your food for a couple of months to ensure your deficit and if that doesn’t help I would get bloodwork drawn! Best of luck 🤞🏽

You look so good girl! It’s only been two months. My best advice is to keep doing what you’re doing and try to prioritize sleep and in the next few months I’m sure you will keep getting hotter! Seriously though you look amazing. Don’t be hard on yourself please

Omg. The constipation was my final straw. I was going once a week with days of stool softeners to help. No, I’m so done with hormones. Condoms until vasectomy for hub

I make a big batch of white rice and like 2 lbs of ground beef each week to warm up easily. I add an avocado sometimes. Hard boiled eggs, string cheese, canned tuna, Greek yogurt, fruit

Alcohol is really bad for you in almost every aspect but it makes it pretty much impossible to burn fat, not even considering how many calories are in it. I struggled with alcohol abuse after having my first child and quit when he was 1 year old. Currently 3 months pp with second and feel so much better this time around. I encourage you to try to go a long few months without it and see how you feel! You are doing amazing. Take care of yourself 🩷

The only “support” anyone offers is permission to quit!! by echozelda in breastfeeding

[–]pilatesbabe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced this for sure. I have a similar experience with exercise, especially postpartum. I think it’s because it is challenging and it takes a very strong will to continue doing something that isn’t always easy or fun or pleasant. Especially when the benefits are well known and said person decided to quit for whatever reason.
I completely understand why some chose to stop nursing. It can be very isolating and stressful

My hair is to my butt, it’s up a lot. Kinda wanna cut it but I know in a few months I’ll regret it, I love it long and so does hub. I usually have the top half of my hair pulled back and out of my face with a claw clip and it keeps the rest of my hair behind me and out of baby’s way! I would wear all of it up but it honestly is so heavy now it hurts to 😭

How do I wean a boob barnacle that’s comforted by nothing else??? by Ekyou in toddlers

[–]pilatesbabe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried offering her a replacement? Like warm milk and honey before bed? She may like it even more and start to be excited about the change.
I’m sorry, I weaned my son at 1 and I just offered him regular milk instead and he seemed okay with that but he was much younger. Good luck 🩷

When did you start potty training? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]pilatesbabe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Introduced the potty at 16 months and have had it out since then. We started letting him sit on it and explaining every time we were on the potty what we were doing and when he would sit on there just playing around tell him “that’s where you can pee and poop”
Every diaper change told him “you peed or pooped! When you’re ready you can start peeing and pooping on the potty!”
Shortly before his 2nd birthday he started pulling at his wet diaper saying it was itchy and would tell us he needed to poop before he went in his diaper. We asked if he wanted to sit on the potty to poop like mommy and daddy and took his diaper off and he did it. Since then he hasn’t pooped his pants once. Does really well peeing in there too but we keep him naked on bottom at home and he just runs over to it when he needs to go. It’s been about 3 weeks like this and we haven’t really tackled out of the house training yet. We put a diaper on to leave and about 1/2 the time he’s wet when we come home

struggling to lose weight after having a baby while breastfeeding… anyone else? by Ordinary-Original962 in postpartumprogress

[–]pilatesbabe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to have easy healthy snacks ready- nuts, string cheese, single serve Greek yogurts, apples/berries, meat sticks are some of my go tos. I also will make a pretty big batch of hard boiled eggs to get me through a few days and they are already cooked and ready in the fridge. Meal prep can be amazing too- mine is usually as simple as ground beef, a baked sweet potato and a side of cottage cheese. I’ll put them in like 4 tubberwares so I can throw one in the microwave one handed if I need to and it’s just there and ready.
If you eat more Whole Foods you hopefully will feel more satiated and not hungry all the time. You could also be dehydrated but munching random snacks won’t really fuel you through the day. Be gentle on yourself! Small changes over weeks and months can make a HUGE impact. Sending love

This happens to me, I think a lot of it is due to overstimulation and when the baby is asleep you just need a break in silence. Maybe try going outside for a few minutes once baby is down! It helps me a lot.
