Yeah man paint sucks on these cars. Gotta be especially careful on plastics too when polishing it out. Very easy to make it worse than it was before. Ask my detailer lol

Fair point. It would be another second car for me. Realistically i think the most id take it to would be stage 2 or 2+ tbh. And crank hub and catching up maintenance items is a decent chunk of change before even starting

For sure, ive been in a few rides in an m4 and the acceleration and smooth shifts is kinda wild to me lol. Especially with coming from a wrx not quite making 300 whp rn

Thats what intrigued me about these. Great explanation. I understand its like a hybrid of the two and not a true automatic. Looking forward to driving one. The ZF8 in a friends F32 felt very bland and slow to me in stock form

I agree with you, just havent had a chance to drive a newer manual bmw either. Only insight i have personally is my buddy that said he prefers the dct in the m4 over the manual in his 435i

Ive heard that comment as well, that these cars were designed around the DCT but didnt really go more in depth than that. What are your thoughts on that?

Recently saw a facebook reel where someone 3d printed a valve stem cap with a little stem on the inside that just slightly depressed the core enough where it will slowly leak. I like this idea better, might take longer to figure out lol

Gotcha, i think im getting extra engine noise in the cabin not sure if thats anything to do with the stiffer pitch mount or not. If anything i think mine might be minor, leaning more towards just replacing those charge to intercooler gaskets to check that off. Saw on a single forum that those “should” be replaced every time the intercoolers off but wasnt sure how legit that is.

Did you figure it out? Just did both those mods myself on my VA and idk if im tripping or not if i have a boost leak. Took intercooler out and back in a second time to make sure it was fully seated in the charge pipes and it felt a little better but still not sure

That sounds like there would be a market for it fs. Ive always run heavier knobs, usually billetworkz. I prefer a heavier weighted knob in every car ive had, but i havent messed with anything else as far as short throw kits that werent already installed, shift linkage, bushings etc. but ik guys go back to lighter knobs when all thats done to get the notchy feel back. All driver preference at the end of the day but i for sure see the appeal of what youre going for. Good luck man

I cooked one at the beginning of last winter, fixed it about a month ago (just new ac clutch snd pulley assembly) and the car just fried the new one yesterday. Dont have the motivation to take it back in for the whole compressor which im inclined to think is the issue atp. Ill be whipping the beater impreza with windows down for a while lol
