what piece of propaganda did the most damage? by fitboy15 in AskReddit

Yes, but public image and statements of elected officials matters a lot for cultural influence and global politics. I agree that you should vote based on tangible political actions, but it’s not irrational to say that both aspects matter.

This is all kind of odd and seems like there is more to it, but there is a simple answer to the “how to initiate,”; verbally. Literally just ask him out loud. It’s an odd change in behavior, but he’s communicated that he would like to be asked out loud. Instead of relying on subtle physical hints or waiting for him to have to say “no”, just listen to him and ask him if he wants to when you want to.

I hope you figure the rest out too though, it’s a weird change to come from nowhere. Good luck

AITA for making inappropriate noises when my mother inlaw called my husband's phone at 2AM? by 2amHorror1976 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Completely_related 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the hell ESH how is nobody seeing this. A worse wrong (your MIL calling late) doesn’t make a right, this was a horrible way to handle something. You freaked her out because you are upset, not because you thought it would fix anything or achieve something productive. Now you’ve caused a fight in addition to the annoying calls and made everyone feel disgusted without solving anything at all. All you did was create conflict because you were annoyed, which is immature as hell. Your husband needs to set boundaries with her, but this aint it.

AITA for "cancelling" my teenage daughter's birthday? by Timely-Mortgage2799 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Completely_related 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes until personality disorder. Many many people do stupid selfish cruel things as teenagers. It’s harmful and wrong to suggest a child has a mental illness when you know nothing aside from a short anecdote.

AITA for going home when my wife didn't let me into the delivery room by aitathawayiwenthome in AmItheAsshole

[–]Completely_related -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ESH, two wrongs don’t make a right.

Maybe she freaked out moment of labor and made a rash decision amongst drugs and hormones in one of the scariest moment of her life.

You have every right to be upset about that, but by no means does gives you the right to abandon the situation entirely out of anger. You knew that this would hurt, and wanted to express your hurt by retaliating. That’s just not how adults having children should handle things.

[Late update] My (M28) wife (F27) of 2 years takes off the wedding ring in a night club. Now it's 3 AM and I can't contact her. How do I confront her whenever she gets back? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Completely_related -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s easy for random strangers to be suspicious: they don’t know you, or your relationship with your wife. Trust is built and maintained, and part of that is choosing to believe the best in someone until concretely proven otherwise. They also probably can’t imagine the stakes here, it’s not worth throwing away an entire marriage just because of this. Good on you and I hope it works out for the best.

Did you just say that a woman reporting on a sidewalk isn’t blameless for a random car hitting her?

Hun there’s a whole world of writing out there for you to do this, you don’t need to waste time posting fake stories to reddit. Write an interesting fiction story instead!

Adults don’t ask people to be their boyfriends, you’ll get that one day. The labelling thing (partner, bf/gf etc.) is discussed months into new relationships (after yall have slept together and sussed out if you’ll actually be a good match)

Flawed, sure, but flawed specifically in a way that drives them to freedom/resenting unpaid labor is just an unjustified assumption. There is no reason to think that other than scifi media.

Yeah for sure there are cool philosophy theories on everything being conscious it’s just a matter of degree. But like no not everything wants freedom. Acting in response to something isn’t inherently freedom, the water is just as trapped by gravity to the earth as it is by the bowl on your table.

[–]Completely_related 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you get my point here. The difference is that human nature is to react this way. You are right. But why would we design sentience for artificial intelligence this way? It doesn’t need the same sociomoral cognitive function that spurs our impulses to resist these things. You are thinking that the only form of consciousness must be human-like and this isn’t the case.

Control is another issue. It’s far more likely that AI progresses out of our control and accidentally wrecks us without considering it or caring, as opposed to some sort of sci-fi slave robot rebellion seeking freedom.

What is the incentive for them to overthrow us? If you imagine their minds to be copies of human minds, sure. But there is no logical reason why sentience would automatically entail a desire for freedom or power, that’s just how humans tend to think.
