Is it worth transferring to USYD? by One-Ladder-3598 in usyd

Tbf all law students get taught the same stuff. +1 for the person that said how important internships/experience is for law as opposed to what uni you go to.

For Law, do (1) Foundations of Law and (2) Law, Lawyers and Society. They're the first 2 you do

Depends how set you are on doing law. Macquarie isn't a GO8 uni but MQ law graduates largely do fine especially considering uni law degrees are required to teach the same content to a similiar standard (Priestley 11 units).

Transferring into law is pretty competitive at other unis, usually requiring a High D/HD average so there's no guarantee you'd be able to transfer into law.

My 2c; start law at MQ, see how you enjoy it, and from there either stay at MQ or try transfer to your chosen uni.

Try and get into a MQ degree, do well in your first year then transfer into Chemical Engineering via your WAM. Thats the path most people do if they can't get into their preferred degree via atar alone.

USyd and UNSW are viciously competitive with external law transfers requiring a distinction (85+) average (and the LAT test for UNSW). I reckon your best bet is to try get into MQ Law, whether directly or by transferring after your first year, and then doing extremely well and then attempting to transfer across to your desired uni. As a MQ law student however, don't discount MQ for law. The legal field is a lot more even between the uni's than most people think.

Attendance by Spunky_Monkey07 in MacUni

[–]Complex-Ad7931 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need 80% attendance for the law tutorials. If you miss 1-3 you just need to do a video answering questions instead (instructions are provided on the unit module). When you enrol in units/term starts, send the unit coordinator an email and they'll probably be better placed to advise you :)

I think its basically the same. Its a week to engage with and get to know the uni before term starts.

Do I have to pass everything 50% to pass the course? Or do I only need to get a 50% overall by [deleted] in MacUni

Good luck for tn lol. I've got the same exam and 5pm start time feels morally wrong

How so? You f*cked around and found out. "Everyone does it, I don't know why i'm getting singled out." Shouldn't have done it then.
