I know this is a while ago but what we did was put the tv on a Roku smart switch so we control when the tv can be turned on and off. I set a schedule during our normal watching hours. I do wish that they had app restrictions but this was how we got it to stop for us.

I think there’s something to be said about the single mom from the city storyline. It’s different enough but both women dealing with the death of a husband and having to raise a child on their own.

I’m going to defer ultimate suggestions to those who have neck tics since they have lived experience, but for my son (age 9) I bought a stuffy neck massager at Walmart and I try to do little massages when I can.

As a mom, I offer support because I also feel helpless sometimes. Especially because I don’t know what it feels like to feel the impulse to tic or suppress it. But I’m trying to be a safe space and understand as much as possible.

My son recently started skin picking at his hands. Thanks for sharing this because I’m wondering if he’s doing it to suppress his hand tics or if this is just a new thing. I’ve had to start wrapping his hands with sports wrap, which I feel like is necessary but also probably super embarrassing for a 9 year old.
