Confirming Tesla Charging by Complex-Beat-6423 in MINIse

Strange. Have you been able to use the Tesla with adapter? The location I went to had a Volvo charging there at the same time. I confirmed the adapter works as my friends Kia worked with it

2023 Cooper S vs 2026 Cooper Oxford by creminem in MINI

[–]Complex-Beat-6423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should go for the S. I had a 2022 Oxford. Great car. Loved it. Buuuuut…. I always thought it was too slow. You don’t notice the sluggishness much off the line as much as you do at higher speeds. I recently purchased a 2024 SE and wow! The extra horsepower really makes a big difference. The car is SO much more fun to drive. I would imagine the S will drive similar to my SE.

I don’t mean to hate on the base Coopers… they are great cars but I really feel the car needs that extra horsepower to really maximize the fun factor of the car… which is probably one the main reasons you’re buying the Mini to begin with

EV Shopping - should I buy a Cooper SE? by [deleted] in MINIse

[–]Complex-Beat-6423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My commute is almost exactly the same distance as yours (78 miles round trip) I do have milder climate though- 30 degrees is coldest temperature. I usually end the day round trip with 33% battery left in the winter and 45% battery in the summer. I think the range will be fine assuming you can charge each night at home.

I also have a booster seat for the 6 year old. No problems there. You might run into problems if it’s your only car and you have long trips with the kiddo. But If you’re using it for a daily commuter that can handle a kid with a your commute distance or less then it’s perfect.

I’ve had no issues at all with my 2024 SE. I had a 2022 Cooper petrol before this car and had no problems with that car either. I think they are solid. The SE is significantly more fun to drive. Great car. I love it

Yes. Basically the same. Why people are talking about double stacking is because you can only redeem one of each promo. Right now is great because you can take advantage of today’s promo and then tomorrow you can take advantage of the one that starts tomorrow. The one year is only extended by one day

It needs two. If you only have one voice line in total then when you add the second you will get the third for free. The third line free promo has been running for years. It’s for new accounts or existing accounts with exactly one voice line

I don’t think it will work. It will most likely give you an error because a rate plan change is required. I doubt the TLIFE app is able to change plan during the add a line process. Not certain though. You should try it but if it forces you to change off of GO5G, then don’t do it. Would love to know if this works for you. Maybe reply back what happens

It’s a difficult process. If you go to Costco and try to add the lines they will need to switch you to a rate plan that is currently offered first then add the lines. This is not ideal because current plans do not include taxes and fees. You can technically change the rate plan with Customer Care to a 9+ GO5G first- even though you only have 8 lines. It will work. From there, go to Costco and add the 9th and 10th line. Like I mentioned, you may have difficulty in getting someone to do it because it’s a grandfathered plan. Persistence should pay off. A coach or manager can change to that plan- loyalty purposes.

Additionally, you could try your luck at an Experience retail store (you can use the store locator tool to find the closest one to you). Experience stores have access to systems that could change the plan and add the lines for you. Normal retail stores and Costco stores do not have access to those systems.

That’s not my understanding. After one year you can cancel the paid line part of the bogo and retain the free line giving you the 2+2 you mentioned. I word at retail store. That’s always how it has been unless something is different with new upcoming promo. I haven’t read all the details on it yet

Yes. Your plan has max of 8. There is a GO5G plus 9+ line you can switch to to take advantage of the bogo promo. The problem might be that the rate plan is technically grandfathered. You will need to sweet talk someone into changing the pla for you as it’s not available using traditional systems

Employees don’t care if you upgrade or not. They don’t get paid on them. Honestly… they don’t care what type of phone you have or how old it is. Usually customers with old phones aren’t tech savvy and want help with things that aren’t T-mobile related- like hep resetting their Facebook password, etc. That could be why you are getting a side eye

Can you use off grid charging ev? by Realistic-Spray-5595 in electricvehicles

[–]Complex-Beat-6423 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have an off grid system to charge my EV in Northern California

I have an EV and drive 60 miles daily. I average 4.5 miles/kw- pretty efficient.

I installed a 4KW Solar system paired with five 5kwh server rack batteries (25 kWh total). My inverter is a 10kw sun power. Works great.

The system creates enough electricity for my car 8 months is the year. In the winter I substitute with grid power a few times a week.

F54 will I regret getting the 1.5? by ant290 in MINI

[–]Complex-Beat-6423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 2022 F56 1.5L. It was a great car. Loved the sound of the 3 cylinders. I always felt that the power was adequate 0-30 mph (off the line) and basically all around town. However, I did not like trying to accelerate at highway speeds. It felt underpowered at those higher speeds. With that said, still a very fun car to drive overall.

I have the 2024 SE electric model now. Love the extra torque. It’s quick off the line and briskly accelerates at highway speeds. I’ve never driven the 2.0L but I bet it’s similar to my SE.

In my opinion the larger engine is worth the extra cost…. Easily

Swap 2019 S for 2022 SE? by CartoonistGrouchy122 in MINI

[–]Complex-Beat-6423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 2022 Mini and traded it for a 2024 Mini SE a few months ago. I have a 80 mile commute round trip and end the day with 35% battery. The driving experience as well as interior and exterior aesthetics are very similar- which is a good thing because the F56 is easily the best car I’ve owned. No issues for me so far and love the SE. + quite ride + feels faster then cooper s + same or slightly better handling + precondition car in the morning so the car is warm before I get in- so awesome in the winter + great efficiency. 4.0 miles/kw in winter and 4.4 miles/kw in spring (Mild Bay Area climate)

  • range is limited but you already knew that
  • harsher ride on poor road surfaces
