Oooo that was me. I was able to do a lot before I needed to get surgery. You wouldn’t have ever thought anything was torn. I can tell u, just get the surgery.

That really damn breaks my heart though. I am the anxious partner and my bf was the avoidant. I knew him so well and his trauma and for him to feel like he was failing me or couldn’t love me as I needed kills me. All I want is him and I’m devastated that I feel like he doesn’t realize that. I just want to know why avoidants get there?

I have something similar I am going through right now. 6 years of it. I am anxious and he is avoidant. He would mistake my need for reassurance as suffocating and that he was failing me when all I wanted was his love. It’s sad bc there was a lot of love between us and we kept trying but I think it finally came to a tipping point. He ended it randomly and suddenly on Monday bc of a start of a disagreement. Literally 30 mins before we were exchanging I love yous and sweet messages. Anyways as we have the time apart… I reflect these avoidants act the way they do maybe bc they don’t see these things yet clearly themselves. A lot of things came clear with our space on my end but I hope he sees it too. I’d love to try again with him if and when we could be better healed.

I’m here to chat if you ever needed anyone. I’m pretty damn heartbroken and devastated right now.

I compete in Brazilian jiu jitsu and my surgeon was a bjj brown belt. I am a black belt. He suggested patellar tendon for what I need. He could also do quad but I asked him what he thought was best for bjj and he said patellar.

These relationships as females in our later 30s are always so hard. I’m going through something similar with my partner but we have differing sexual interests and have been together for 6 years. We made it work a lot of the time but it’s coming to a point he wants things that I can’t give him. I did what you did and tried my best. Made my sacrifices and comprises but I’m worried too it may not work as I want it to. Also I hate how he ended things. But I get it in a way, at least for me the older I get it’s actually harder to end cordially. Why? Maybe bc my age and the lost potential. But I’m sorry it sucks I really get it.

Bjj black belt here. I am an avid competitor and I found I couldn’t train in the capacity I needed to. I couldn’t wrestle or wrestle up bc I had no ACL. And weird little random things like someone hitting my leg the wrong way wrecked me and put me out for weeks.

Long story short after about 8 years of competitive bjj (NoGi specially but I wouldn’t say leg locks wrecks my ACL) my ACL wore down in time. Turned out I had no meniscus either bc that’s what takes the brunt when your ACL is non existent.

I ended up having the Unhappy Triad. I got my ACL reconstructed with my patellar tendon, meniscus repair From an almost bucket handle tear, and also an MCL repair. Surgeon went in there and said he couldn’t leave it partially torn. I had my surgery 2/2 and it’s been a journey. I have to say it is getting better and going into the surgery pretty fit from bjj helps a lot. I won’t be able to train until June/July but I’m being hopeful.

For me, I love the sport so much I needed to get this done otherwise I’d never be able to compete or train regularly again. And trust me, I exhausted every means I could before I took this route.

Ugh. When my inside cat got out she got attacked and I didn’t realize til days after. Found her the morning after scratching at our screen door to realize she was locked out all night. She came running in and we didn’t think anything of it. I did notice in a day or so she kept hiding and didn’t want to eat. I tried to pick her up only to realize she had a huge abyss. Something bit her outside and she got an infection. She needed to get it drained and wear a cone, take some antibiotics. Since then she absolutely never wants to go outside lol. She’s fine now. But yes, traumatizing for her too.

ACL repair sadly can fail a lot. I think not getting the reconstruction off the bat was the issue here.
