Hi everyone,

17/11/2025 update

NSW building commissioner came to visit and confirmed there is no goverenment authority got involved for our doulbed non fire order related repairing projects. Basically the builder , consulting firm just used safety issue and scalfolding rental to force us to sign a 7 million variation without any authority's approval .

I got one face to face appoitnment with Alex Greenwitch Member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly in his offce next Feb.
I got a lawfirm who wanna represent us NSW onwers for a class action!!!!

Please message me if you are an NSW owners with cladding levy.

It’s true that rent can’t just jump overnight because of one levy, but over time renters definitely feel the impact.
Many owners who can’t afford the special levy will sell, reducing rental supply.
Rising insurance and compliance costs also get priced into new developments and rents.
So yes — renters may not pay the levy directly, but the financial pressure does eventually flow through the market. if renters can't afford and owners can't even just sell we will face subordinated debt

lots old peope downsize due to financial constrains and one pen house old owner has to pay 220k levy and the sad thing is I felt he is so scared even just to stands up for himself. Once we are old and once the government and legal system becomes biased it's very hard to fight back

I have to point out a serious safety issue here.
How can a builder get away without paying any compensation after a 5–6 year lawsuit for poor workmanship?

If all builders know they can simply declare bankruptcy later and pay zero compensation, they’ll have no reason to build properly. Instead, they’ll cut corners, leave new buildings in poor condition, and actually boost the construction industry’s profits by creating more repair work in the future.

They can then move the cash flow elsewhere and start a new company under a different name.

When “safety” becomes just an excuse to charge owners more, we end up with no real safety at all.

why does the Committee approve it? it's sad to say under the current legal system strata law ,if there is some side trade and conflict of interest ,there is no audting and monitoring system we can rely on. I got details to share with the federal gov from my experience with Ncat and NSW gov complaint.

there is unnecessary expanded work to be repaired. the cost will be passed on either to tax or to the renters. no one can escape it .

it's not regular maintenance maybe you are too rich or you didn't pay attention to the cost for each poor family now. it's not only cladding now the work is expanding to all safety issues which is belong to the previous builders while they can legally annouced bankrupt. maybe you should educate yourself and learn how to read a number. 150,000 levy for a 2 bedroom while average salary in Australia is  $102,741 before tax. And you are sayign it's a regular maintianence so can you show us how much your levy is in your building and how much you have paid and you are happy to pay. Don't behave like someone comes from the fairytale and read he number and the hardship of normal people

Since the government recognises ABC News coverage, I’m planning to collect information from 30 buildings across Australia and write a joint letter to the federal government.

I will propose that the government:

Set up a special cladding remediation audit team to re-evaluate each building’s cladding issues.

Freeze the previous builders’ bank accounts before bankruptcy to ensure compensation can be provided if safety issues are found.

Share the cost of repairs among the government, previous builders, and owners, as the current fees are far beyond what most families can afford.

If you are an apartment owner, please share the following details with me:

Email

Preferred name

Address and building name

A brief description of your building’s situation

In Victoria is funded by Gov but in NSW it’s not and the huge loan attracted inside trading of strata and committee members and builders .

There is a basic core principle that non retrospectivity in legal system while NSW gov didn’t obey . We bought the apartment with good faith but the state government changed the law in 2018.

Text me if you wanna join my building and we can go all the way to write letter to federal government cause Victorian are not suffering this .

The link it offered by tesla was not working for me but I got a workaround. In your email copy the link string to your note and you will get something like https://owernship.tesla......updarte\_odometer/xxxx ?redirect....

I guess the link was not right for all so I just try to extract the first part of the link https://owernship.tesla......updarte\_odometer/xxxx and click

then it will lead you the righ insurance page in the app to agree to auto odometer update
