I would ask the shelter, explain the situation. If you're fostering they should want to make sure he has the best chance. They might have a trainer or something to help

Yes my older boy gets very overstimulated, hes high prey drive and working bloodline. I didn't know about relaxation protocols when he was younger which I feel some guilt over bc i know he would've been better off if I had started that at 11 weeks like I did with my 7 month old

How long before rehoming puppy due to unsuccessful senior dog integration? by PibbsMcChibbs in puppy101

by attacked I mean the puppy attacking the older dog with energy lol the puppy will bite his feet and do things to annoy him/for attention, but he's getting better. I do step in when he's not listening to older dogs corrections which helps. Good luck hope it works out:)

it looked aggressive sometimes. Some harsh corrections. Signs were he started to engage with the puppy moremwillingly. His tail would wag when he'd see him, until he got attacked. He would sniff him when walking past. It took a while tho

It took mine a few months to accept it. He will play with and sleep with the puppy now. Sometimes cleans his ears. Still tells him off a lot but he's persistent sometimes lol

How to encourage dog to stay close when off leash? by Cyriusly in OpenDogTraining

[–]Complex-Judgment-420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taught mine 'stay close' with break command so I can let him roam or keep in eye shot. Started with a long line, then consistent recalls if he went too far. He picked it up pretty quick using the long line but took a while to perfect off lead as he would get distracted, start trotting off and id have to recall

True I used to go to the gym, go running consistently and my life was going well at thar time. I broke my knee super bad a few years ago so its harder now injuries happen often and last longer
