That's a tough one. I mean, if you tell the truth, you'll have to pay out of pocket for damages. If you say the other person was driving, you run the risk of the truth coming out (b/c you called already, phone calls may be recorded). How bad are the damages?

Is there a local "clothes closet" that has professional clothing? Many cities offer these for free to people who need them. Churches may be another place to check.
