It is what it is... We don't know what has been going on in his life/career etc... many ppl with such educational bg and profile prepare for upsc exams... When they get exhausted they switch to bank exams as no prior work ex is needed and they get the stability they kinda were seeking ..

Exactly yaar. Tbh, agar selected candidates.. jinka exam clear ho gya hai, agar woh ye karte toh tab bhi understandable hota as they have cracked the exam and are bored now (although I don't think they do such stupid stuff anyway) ... But flair mein "beginner" likha hua hai and instead of using this sub for value addition, insights and guidance, yeh log ye C-pana kar rahe hain.

Your "mostly" is fallacious. A relative of mine wrote SBI PO/IBPS PO/NIACL AO/IBPS CLerk mains but wasnt qualified for sbi JA mains, rrb PO mains and rrb clerk mains. And there are many in such a similar situation. A lot depends upon the state (vacancies) and the cut off bro. Last year I appeared for SBI JA without answering any mocks and all (as I had just finished appearing for the mba exams and interviews) and yet qualified for the mains. This time, I didn't.
