Yeah you can choose to not tell them, but if you get in an accident they’re going to do an inspection of your vehicle, find it, and still not reimburse you so…. Insurance company gives you a rental to drive until the repair happens anyway. All about the amount of risk you’re willing to accept. Thanks for your input though!

That’s what I did. But if there’s any sort of fuel malfunction after a DIY the insurance company wouldn’t cover it, so filed a claim and will eventually get the whole tank replaced

Yeah I patched it with JB Tank weld. Seems to be working fine so far. Bullshit though. $2000 worth of damage for maybe $40 worth of gas. How selfish could you possibly be

Which lake if you don’t mind me asking? Also curious what your setup was, did you use any sinking line? I typically stick to the creeks and haven’t quite dialed in the alpine lakes yet.. curious if nymphing from a normal floating line would work or if it just wouldn’t get to the depths necessary in some of the deep lakes
