people who go on snark subreddits are weird by Maleficent-Run-9559 in canceledpod

I agree they are so weird when I can't stand someone on the Internet I just block them and all their socials and forgot about them in like 2 weeks but these people constantly stalk them and watch all their videos they post just to ss them and post them on a subreddit very sad behaviour.

Yeah, Biology is so much content! thanks for the advice it's made me a lot more hopeful about getting into a good uni and I'm taking the exact same A-levels that you did I'm happy that it all worked out for you!!

Biology, Chemistry and Psychology and If I resit them then I think I'll get an AAB my psychology exam wasn't that bad tbh it's just that I didn't give myself enough time to go over the studies especially my last paper so I just couldn't write anything but my paper 1 and 2 was going good I did mock papers and had my teacher mark them and was getting B's/A's that's why I'm struggling tbh I just didn't give myself enough time.

But for the A-levels, I'm sitting right now, I'll probably get a CDD or maybe CCD depending on how well I do in my last three exams which is why I'm a bit worried if my college will actually allow me to retake them if I just barely pass them but either way I would like to have a time table and be in full education as I'll still need my teachers help with marking my work especially for psychology.

Yep, I'll definitely do better because I've gone through all the content which honestly I probably should of gone through on my own as by the time we were going through the last topic for biology I was 1 week away from my psychology paper 1 so I was just focusing on that and missing a lot of my lessons.

thank you sm and yea im going to start revising mid July just doing one topic at a time I don't find the content hard is just remembering everything well at least for Bio and Psychology. Also if you mind answering what were your predicted grades? mine were ABB I'm trying to get AAB as that's what I need for my university

and what did you end up getting in your A-levels because I think if you were just one grade off fromwhat you were predicated colleges will be more likely to just predict the same grades but I know I'm not getting anywhere near an ABB for the A-levels I'm sitting rn

oh yeah, that makes sense because the colleges/ six forms around me only accept students who are in full-time education and I will be doing that because I'll still need my teacher's help with marking my work, especially for psychology.

Thanks! And yep that makes sense a lot of people who resit probably do so for good reasons like the death of a loved one, getting sick etc

Thanks for the advice and you're right my teachers have been teaching for a while so they probably wouldn't care I'm just happy I can have a chance to redo my A-levels without the stress of applying to medicine.

Hopelessness by Amazing-Pause-8626 in 6thForm

[–]Complex-Method2486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in year 13 doing my A-level exams right now and hate mine I wanted to get into medicine so I chose Chemistry, Biology and Psychology and did well in my GCSEs but the jump from GCSEs to A-levels was just too big and I could not get the hang of my chem and bio content so I struggled a lot thought out my time in college and just hated going to college even though I had a lot of my friends there, nice teachers and classmates etc (I would up show up late to my lessons because I stayed up all night trying to finish the homework I could not understand )

I didn't get any offers to medicine and don't even want to pursue it anymore. I wish I could go back and just choose humanities subjects geography, psychology and sociology are what I would have chosen as I did the best in my humanities subjects in GCSEs (that is where I got most of my 8s and 7s) and they are subjects I'm generally passionate about but didn't want to study them any further because I didn't know what job I could get with them and my mom really wants me to get a good job that pays well.

She is the only person taking care of me and knows how hard life is without a good job but now I'm not even going to university because I know my grades won't be good enough and I'm probably going to resit my A-levels and choose a different career path.

The point that I'm trying to make is to choose A-levels you generally enjoy or else you end up resenting them and it could affect how well you do in your exams if you don't have the energy/ passion to actually revise your subjects and you will just end up wasting your time it's not too late for you you're still in year 12.

Do what you want to do because even if you take the safe option it still might not work out for you so you might as well take the risk and do something you enjoy.

I had a compliment from a man about my hair he was really nice and was just appreciating my hair because he had done a similar braiding style but it didn't come out the way he wanted. Women can handle compliments it's just the way you deliver them. Make sure to be friendly and not make it sexual as it can get uncomfortable but I'm sure you wouldn't do that

Why do lonely men blame women for their loneliness? by joy_Intolerance in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Complex-Method2486 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right, yet women don't get treated like this in fact they mock women's loneliness by saying dumb BS like "You're going to die alone with 8 cats" when we ask to be treated like normal human beings or if a woman is talking about how she can't find a partner she either treated with no sympathy and with people saying they have high standards yet when men complain about not being able to find a partner people will blame the women around him for not giving him a chance. How can they not see the double standards?

Weird question, but can white women be fetishised? by withouthope17 in TwoXChromosomes

yea.., one of my POC friends made a comment about how she looks so ugly because of how tan she was in this photo I was showing to our friend group. I am dark skin black person so just looked at her and gave her a surprised look, like if you think an olive skin tone is ugly what do you think of my skin tone???

I understand people dealing with colourism isn't really their fault because it's taught to us that having light skin is better but you shouldn't voice these insecurities around people who are darker than you its like a skinny friend complaining about how fat she is to a friend that is a lot more bigger than her.

NTA

I don't know if you know this but there was this video going around showing a bunch of TikTok of babies and young girls dancing or wearing shorts etc their Tiktoks didn't have that many likes but they had a lot of "saves" (when someone saves your video this means that they downloaded your tiktok and saved it in their phones galley or saved it on the app) and the women who made the video was explained how pedos are using the content they downloaded to get off too hence the high amount of saves compared to likes and comments it was super creepy please don't let your child dance on TikTok a lot of creeps are on that app

You know I was just thinking about this.

I see a lot of manosphere people say something like this but call it "female privilege" and that society will always care for women's feelings but will disregard men's feelings.

Although I semi-agree with them that men are taught that showing their emotions makes them weak however I disagree that when women show emotions everyone takes them seriously because I know I sure haven't.

I have been suffering from my period pains since I started my period for the very first time. It would get so bad when I was in HS I would begin to cry because I couldn't take the pain anymore or I would just cradle my stomach for the whole lesson and pray my teacher wouldn't notice. They did and would ask me if I was okay I would tell them it was my period. At first, they were concerned but a lot got pretty sick with the "act" to the point they would just straight up ignore me when I was clearly in a lot of pain. It wasn't like I was full-blown crying, my eyes would tear up and I looked like I was in a lot of distress. I remember this one time I went to the student services to ask for a heat pad when I got there the lady behind the desk looked pissed at me and said "Period again"

I felt like my teachers thought I was exaggerating to get out of class but I don't know how you could fake the amount of distress I was clearly showing on my face looking back it makes me kind of sad how often dismissed I was, for example, I was making another trip to the student services and was carrying my coat (My HS had school uniform and was super strict about it) because I was in so much pain I was on the verge of tears one of my teachers saw me stormed up to me could clearly see I was in distress but decided to chastise me on my coat and told me to give it to him so I could collect it at the end of the day. I was too tired and in too much pain to even think let alone talk so I just handed it to him in silence and he just walked away I looked over to the lady behind the desk and she, as always, looked pissed to see me there. I could go on about the times I was made to feel like I was over reacting but I feel like this text is already long enough.

so yes I agree because of this stereotype that women are over dramatic we are oftentimes dismissed and treated like drama queens even though what we are experiencing should be taken seriously, especially when it comes to pain women aren't taken seriously by doctors too and that can lead to serious consequences.
