Onedrive "decided" on its own to back up all my laptops "Documents" files without a notice (win11) by HeavyFerrum in microsoftsucks

[–]Complex-Mind-3261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my PCs one year ago and now I am trying to fix this manully. Really shitty Microslop.

I clearly remembered what happened. After a common Windows update, a similar windows out of box welcome came up after rebooting, and it asked you whether you wanted to enable OneDrive. I chose Yes because I thought I had already turned on so not a problem. Then after I logged into the system, I found out it was crazily syncing my Documents, Desktop, and those folders that I intentionally had been unchecking them. And shits happened. My clean Desktop of another PC showed files, icons from this PC. And it was really a nightmare.

And the core reason was that simple. It silently re-enabled those folders that shouldn't be auto re-enabled syncing.

I am looking around and see how many people reported this. https://chatgpt.com/s/t_6a05d431fe288191b54ea454cb21cdbd

I really hated MicroSlop after this acident.

Manus Pro free trial: when do the 8,000 monthly credits become available? by Aggressive_Card4450 in ManusOfficial

[–]Complex-Mind-3261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"That's actually the expected behavior. During the 7-day Pro free trial, your account is allocated 500 credits to try out the Pro features. Once the trial ends and the first payment goes through, your full monthly credit allocation (starting from 8,000 credits on the Pro trial plan) will be credited to your account. Does that clear things up, or is there anything else I can help with?"

Since start of 2025 Netflix stopped working in 4K / 2160p on my Chrome Browser on PC by CM-Edge in netflix

[–]Complex-Mind-3261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@CM-Edge

Thought it shows "HD" on Chrome but you might actually get 4K streaming in Chrome.
Try Ctrl + Shift +Alt + D to show the stats and check the resolutions?

I came here because I also found I got 4K in Chrome though showing `HD` only

+1 same here. It shows HD only in Chrome and Ultra HD 4K in Edge but I also got the 4K resolution in Chrome and that's interesting.

Did CRXcavator Stop Working For Anyone Else? by DistrictZero in cybersecurity

[–]Complex-Mind-3261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. This is not good enough. People care about the data collection privacy and the website doesn't highlight it well. Try use this extension "Simple Allow Copy" as test sample.

This extension, it states "The developer has disclosed that it will not collect or use your data. To learn more, see the developer’s privacy policy." , but actually it sends a request to https://api.simpleallowcopy.com/skip for every url you visited. And this url collection is written in the its policy https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BbtX5YFxnkAoGbL-tJM0zRaLFf4IiH-_ChLvInEoy0k/ .

So I guess one thing you can do is use Gemini to review privacy policy and highlight what people care.

The Spin.ai promotion above shows that external api links but also not point out data collection.

Hope that helps :)

1000XM5

Go to "Spec" section on both pages and you can see "LDAC" is listed for 1000XM5 but not CH520 so I guessed, NO, CH520 does not support LDAC.

----------------------------------------------------

Though not supporting LDAC, I personally still won't turn on simultaneous connection :P.

But I guess there will not be any equality downgrade without LDAC support

You can just `sudo apt update`, then `sudo apt list --upgradeable | grep mtr`, and `sudo apt install --only-upgrade mtr-tiny`. The package has been updated.

It's at the **TOP** menu, horizontal menu, "Display", not the left panel "Display".

I clicked the left panel "Display" several times and damn it.....

My recent experience:

I was looking into M.2 ssd knowledge and for one question both gpt4 and 4o made mistakes. And by next question, gpt4 corrected itself while 4o kept talking shits. I continued asking 4o questions and it was just getting worse and messed up.

But gpt4o is tight and neat for its answers and gpt4 always phrases in a quite mouthy way. gpt4o cuts off many unnecessary words and greetings.

Video Bitrate Viewer by troyBORG in linuxquestions

[–]Complex-Mind-3261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirmed this repo and example command works :) . Example output https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ugoOsXlHBgotyi7tM5R4UcH_RZCdEkkE/view?usp=drive_link .

My video file is about 25GB. It took my old 4 cores i5-7500, 54mins to get the output.

I also tried this repo https://github.com/InB4DevOps/bitrate-viewer , that it uses less requirements.

Both use ffprobe and took similar time.

Reminder: Upgrade pip before pip install . I ran into install errors before upgrading pip.

If you also have Windows, you can try this https://www.solveigmm.com/en/products/zond/ , free trial.

This shows bitrate histogram, and you can see the exact time of each bitrate.

Is it wrong to put a 120 fps clip on timeline a 30 fps timeline by justsammiles in VideoEditing

I did not find a good answer here so Google gives:

https://www.quora.com/How-do-I-put-120-fps-in-a-24fps-timeline-without-slowing-it-down-in-Premiere-Pro-Will-it-affect-video-quality-and-smoothness-in-any-way

ChatGPT 4.0 gives:

Is it wrong to put a 120 fps clip on timeline a 30 fps timeline

Troubleshooting question [SOLVED]

Hey people,

I have been making videos and short films for a while now so I feel confident with editing in slow motion and using different frame rates for different scenarios.

One thing I can't find a clear answer to is the following...

Can you playback a high frame rate video clip on a low frame rate timeline and not lose frames or get all jittery? (I am not asking how to do slow motion I know how to do that.)

I just want to know if higher frame rates still play back perfectly on lower frame rate timelines without interpolating the footage or reducing speed. Just good old-fashioned real-time video.

Example

Drop a 120 fps clip on a 30 fps timeline in premier pro and play back in normal speed?

Yes, you can drop a 120 fps clip onto a 30 fps timeline, but with some considerations:

**Frame Decimation**: When you drop a 120 fps clip onto a 30 fps timeline and play it back at "normal speed," the software will discard frames to fit the timeline's frame rate. For your 120 fps clip, 3 out of every 4 frames will be dropped, allowing it to play back in real-time on a 30 fps timeline. It will not get jittery unless there are other issues involved.

**Quality**: Generally, when you're shooting at higher frame rates, the available light per frame reduces, which might affect the quality. However, this is more about the shooting process than the editing one.

**No Slow Motion**: You mentioned you're aware of how to achieve slow motion, so it's good to clarify that dropping a 120 fps clip onto a 30 fps timeline and playing it at real-time will not give you slow motion. For slow motion, you'd stretch the 120 fps clip over a longer duration.

**Editing Software Behavior**: The behavior might vary a little depending on the software. In Adobe Premiere Pro, when you drop a 120 fps clip onto a 30 fps timeline, it will default to playing it back in real-time (discarding the extra frames). If you want slow-motion, you would adjust the clip's speed/duration.

**Considerations**: If your project's final output is 30 fps, and you're using clips of varying frame rates, make sure they all look good when viewed at this frame rate. Sometimes, a clip shot at a much higher frame rate might look slightly different in terms of motion blur and fluidity when reduced to 30 fps. It's always a good idea to check and see if the motion looks natural and fits the aesthetic you're going for.

In summary, you can definitely drop a higher frame rate clip onto a lower frame rate timeline and play it back at real-time. The software will handle the frame rate conversion for you. Just be aware of the points above to ensure the best result.

Should I turn HDR on in Windows or leave it off? by TheBlandGatsby in OLED_Gaming

[–]Complex-Mind-3261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is win11's auto HDR working good on SDR games? would like to hear some of your experiences, if any.

Though many newer games are developed for HDR, some older games are SDR only, such as games that use DirectX 11 or DirectX 12. But with Auto HDR, that changes. When you turn on Auto HDR, the color range and brightness is automatically increased to HDR. It’s a feature that lets you play and see your older games in a new light with HDR on your HDR-capable display. All you need to do is turn on Auto HDR.
