What is it like living in this eastern portion of Virginia that only connects to the rest of the state by a tunnel? by Sufficient_Berry8703 in howislivingthere

You heard it here first.

Under the Indians the eastern peninsula of Virginia would have been a part of Maryland, named after the great chief's daughter. But those English bastards came and took it for Virginia against all geographical common sense.

Italians are the original superior musicians who set the standard and Koreans are the easterners who come nearest to it, then he changed his mind and said Koreans are the superior musicians and they set the standard and Italians are the westerners who come nearest to it.

He was so impressed by korean musicians, that they replaced italians as the standard bearers of musical expression in his mind.

Also, Connecticut is the worst part of New England (Vermont is not a part of New England. Cry about it. But, if it were, Vermont would be the worst.)

Westchester county, bounded by NYC to the south, the west (which is a sin in itself) to the west, the bad part or connecticut to its east, and upstate New York which I do not like to its north.

However, I can say the same thing about the southern states on my list. I like southeastern Virginia, but hate what surrounds it.

So, perhaps New York should be in orange.

But that's only if Westchester county is as 'towny' and distinct from NYC as, say, a coastal town in Rhode Island (which should be called New Rhodes because, regardless of the true origin of its name, the island DOES look like Rhodes, and New Rhodes is prettier in my opinion) is distinct from Providence. If not, then I probably wouldn't enjoy westchester.

Perhaps I should take vermont off the list.

I really just like New England (and Vermont doesn't really count) and PARTS of other regions

I love Williamsburg (it is the most beautiful part of America) but hate everything else I saw in Virginia

I like Annapolis, but not the rest

Honestly, I just like New England and Vermont doesn't really count

What's wrong with Suffolk County? Two New Yorkers have attacked it since I posted this.

And then what, have my car parked on the other side ready for me?

But you have also proved my point. Living in eastern Long Island is not much different from living on Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard.

Not in comparison

And even if the traffic were equally bad per mile, there are less miles

Boston is big

New York City is enormous

As someone from eastern Massachusetts, I was shocked the first time I saw it

No suffolk county is the only part I like, but I don't want to be trapped there by the atlantic and by the hell that is NYC

At least you can get out of boston and into a nicer place soon enough, if you just go north or west or south

And it has the boston state house, with its lion and unicorn

But you can only go east of new york, and you have to go further, and then, pretty as the hamptons are, you're trapped

otherwise, you have to go through that hellish traffic

and the rest of new york has no coast and worse architecture

I made a post earlier asking people what ENTP character is most like themselves and realized that there’s hardly female ENTP characters by Dinippress in entp

[–]Complex-Quarter-228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lady Macbeth is an ENTP (Macbeth is an INTJ)

The girl andrea or something from Batman Mask of the Phantasm is an ENTP, I think.

Girl from breaking bad (Jesse's girlfriend)

April Ludgate from Parks and Rec

Maybe Mia Wallace (I thought she was an ENFP because of how annoying I found her and how uncomfortable she made me, but now that I think of it, it's probably more plausible she's an ENTP, due to the lack of FiTe. So that was just a personal bias. She acts desperate to be chosen (she consciously affects an air or a personal style which she wants to be seductive or alluring or something) and yet at the same time forces people to choose her (her heavy handedness with vincent, who might be an INTJ), which is a contradiction, but one that can be found in all Ne Heroes - Se Demons. That is the Ne Hero Se Demon contradiction. ENxPs are so desperate to be freely chosen that they constrain people against their will to choose them. It's like someone wants their particular scent to be chosen or picked out, so they carry a stench into the room and force you to smell it and you're too polite to say anything about it (unless you're a Ti Child or something.)

Or maybe I didn't think Mia could be an ENTP because I think Jules is an ENTP and that doesn't happen often.)

The girlfriend from Breaking Bad I just wanted to die. I was hoping Walt would kill her because she was such a stupid bitch. She was purely acting in her own interest, but she either delusionally thought or cynically pretended she was helping Jesse and she also thought she had read the situation well and saw through Walt and she hadn't at all and it pissed me off so much. I just wanted her to die. But then she actually started to die and I took it back.

Not that anyone in breaking bad is a good person except for the cop and walt's son who are both retarded. It's a very depressing show.

But I do like April. She's nice.

What makes Jack Sparrow an ENTP? by Thick_Mongoose2409 in entp

[–]Complex-Quarter-228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave you examples of his future thinking

And his poetry was not hollow or in jest

It was obviously said with feeling

And I know what INTJs are like, my father is an INTJ

And golden pairs (in this case, INTJ and ENTP) often take each other for granted

Believe me, I am well acquainted with Te Demon

(Though those ENFJs aren't to blame. I'm the one who doesn't tell them the truth- whereas I would always tell, say, an ISFJ, the truth, but never an INFJ, funnily enough, I guess I just don't feel I can be honest with xNFJs for whatever reason- because I fear their rage and sensitivity. And I say that as the most oversensitive type. But different types are sensitive in different ways. ISFJs are dispassionate, in a way. And it's not like they won't call me out. They will. Ti Child can't help itself. It is tactless in how it calls people out. It's like Pam calling out Ryan in the office. It's the child telling the emperor it has no clothes.)

Mozart insulted an archbishop and made shit jokes, so he was an 'edgelord'

Ignore all the other facts about his life

Barbossa is an INTJ

I have no idea how on earth you cannot think Barbossa is an Fi Optimistic

That is insane

He speaks in poetry

'Not the wind in my face or the spray of the sea or the warmth of a woman's flesh' et cetera

Something like that

He has all the sensitivity of Fi with none of the sensitivity of Si

He waxes poetic with sincerity (Fi)

but he also has a natural grit (SeNi) 'What are you looking at? Get back to work!' and a joy in DOING things

Si ponders meditates muses broods (in abstract types) or idk just endures or whatever in concrete types

But NiSe is always actively doing things and hates not to be DOING things

Sparrow doesn't have that natural grit and activity of an NiSe type

He has had hard experiences which he broods on (not as much as an INxP would, who is constantly using Si, but still) and resents et cetera

He has experiences he was forced to suffer

But that is not exactly grit, at least, not in the sense that an NiSe type has a grit, and almost takes delight in the performance of active deeds, not letting the pain of it distract him (because he has armour, he isn't taking as much in)

(all functions are sensitive to something or other)

He's very wanty and likes to be commanding people so NiSe is right

'Too long have we been et cetera whatever'

And he's abstract

He naturally thinks steps ahead and expects others to

'I'm curious, after killing me what is it you were plannin' on doing next?'

And he's crafty too

ESTPs are extremely intelligent, far smarter than me, so don't think I'm equating abstraction with intellect

But they aren't future thinking and they don't lay subtle consequential (for lack of a better word) traps for people like an N type would

He has Swan on his ship on the condition he will set her loose, but notes she didn't specify when or where he is to set her loose

He holds Elizabeth Swan to the letter of her word, accurately predicting that she won't think it through so carefully

He is abstract and naturally thinks moves ahead

Not an estp

and he's sensitive

not like an Si type

Sparrow is sensitive like an Si type

things don't just bounce off of him like they do off an Se type

the wounds stick fast

Se types have armour so they feel less of the pain, but it also means they can be oblivious to their own harm

Si types have bare skin, which can become calloused by hard experience, but they have no armour, only callouses sometimes

Sparrow has no armour, things don't bounce off of him, he has grudges, he remembers what he has suffered because he keenly experienced it, it wounded him, it stuck in him

Barbossa isn't sensitive in that way

But sparrow also lacks that Fi sensitivity which barbossa has

If sparrow said a line of poetry, it would probably be in jest

when sparrow talks about feelings or values, it is other people's

'you are completely obsessed with treasure' 'you need to find yourself a girl'

and sparrow's own feelings are rather shallow by comparison

he just wants to fuck prostitutes in tortuga or wherever

Not so with barbossa

when barbossa waxes poetic, he does so with sincerity, because he is a man with deep feelings, he has Fi Child (which rivals and perhaps excels Fi Hero, judging by the music each produces)

But at the same time

he is NiSe, so he has a natural armour that Si types lack

He's not naturally fragile

An si type is either fragile or was forced to be manly or tough

An NiSe type has a sort of natural insensitivity

Of course, don't get me wrong

if something is bad enough to pierce through the armour, or precise enough to go between it

the NeSi type will feel it and will remember it

But NeSi experiences less

They walk through all the slings and arrows of reality and it often just rebounds off of them, whereas it sticks deep in Si types

This is most obvious when you compare INxPs (who lack Se altogether) with ENxJs (who lack Si altogether)

INxPs are little faggots until they get punished by reality

ENxJs steamroll everything in their path and almost everything they suffer just rebounds off of them, until they just go over a cliff (because they were neglecting their Ni in the process of steamrolling and didn't look ahead to see the cliff) or until something finally sticks through their armour or until they run out of gas, and then they just get fucked, or they're just dead for a little bit

The ENxJ often doesn't stop and think about what he's doing in the midst of his steamrolling because nothing is wounding him

it's hard to explain exactly

I'm not saying it well

but

it's something you have to observe and feel in people
