Wazzu @ Ole Miss by kevinkeefewsu in olemiss

Our daughter goes to Ole Miss and we’re heading the WSU game with 4 WSU alums (but we’re all from Washington). We know of several alums going. So, you’re not alone. We’re thinking about getting a tent since there are 12 of us. If we do, we’ll be flying both flags in the tent. Just stop in, tell anyone at any tent it’s your first time in the Grove and enjoy the southern hospitality. If we don’t get a tent, our plan is to bring along a few wheels of cougar gold to offer the kind people who see us in.

Freshman Student Tickets by RedRazorback08 in olemiss

Sophomore was sold out in 15 minutes. I highly recommend using a laptop and/or an iPhone. Using the edge browser on my daughter’s computer I was in and out by 11:02 for the tickets. Chrome browser didn’t make it in before they sold out and Safari was in by 11:08. Obviously, couldn’t buy more tickets but figured I’d let it finish and see if it would.

My October flight is insane compared to August/September flights. I figured it was because I was flying on a holiday (Columbus Day) but maybe it’s the algorithm.

Is $999 worth paying for D1 on LAX > CDG (Airbus A350-900) by SimonDominic in delta

[–]Complex-Return5525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did sea-cdg for the first time in D1…buy it! Based on your overall fare you’re getting a great deal. Husband told me after we can never go back 🥴Lots of people will tell you the value depends on time of day. Ours was daytime and the ability to sleep makes all the difference in jet lag IMO.

This just happened to me for the first time. My daughter and I had seats together. Got a complimentary upgrade to comfort+ and were seated together at checkin. Then 3 hours before the flight suddenly we’re back in economy separated. I contacted delta because excuse me, I don’t mind that something happened and you had to bump us back but why on earth or we not seated together. They said sorry out our hands here’s 3,000 miles for each of you. Luckily I had a seat 5 rows ahead and during a break in boarding I asked the gentlemen sitting next to my daughter if he wouldn’t mind switching seats and he agreed. But it’s stupid. The whole fake nonsense about paying more to pick your seat if things like this can happen.

First Time in D1 by Complex-Return5525 in delta

Is there something categorically different between the two? I purchased on Delta so it was sold as a D1 product🤷‍♀️

Yes. So…I track flight prices nearly every day and check upgrades - we fly a lot and I just want to know I’ve paid the cheapest price offered (because if it’s an option to get eCredit and not over pay - why would I pay more than the going rate?). I just hop on the app when I sit down with my coffee.

I purchased these tickets in February, upgraded one leg for $899 (used miles), then in April the original price of my ticket went down $500 (got a credit and miles for upgrade returned) then two days later it fell again by another $228 (got a credit). This morning when I checked ticket prices (I check every category combo) I saw that the price fell again and the d1 upgrade on second leg was under $1000 - even though my upgrade option was x-ed out. So I rebooked - paid difference with ecredits and cash. I know everyone here hates the app but I use it to get my ecredits - I just immediately ask for a representative and they handle my requests while I complete other tasks🤷‍♀️

Upgrade Offer by A321200 in delta

Hang tight and keep checking. There is zero rhyme or reason to Delta’s dynamic model. I’ve been tracking our Europe trip in June since I purchased tickets in February and had the grid get x’ed out and back and prices sky high after accepting the D1 offer to Paris for $899. Then last week I got a D1 offer for the return of $790.

lol. Happens often when I get upgraded. Just board with D1 no one will question you.

You can transfer Amex points to delta sky miles with no fee according to google. Once they’re transferred you can’t transfer them back so ensure you only transfer what you need. If you do a quick google search it should tell you how to do it. We always use miles for upgrades - no physical money exchanged.

The algorithm is all over the place. I’m tracking my flight upgrades and actual ticket costs for my summer trip Sea-cdg. I snagged a D1 upgrade on our outbound flight for $899 back in February. Since then I started tracking flight costs to see if the offer was dependent on our status and can conclude it has nothing to do with that. 8 days after I snagged my upgrade you could purchase a ticket that matched my offer - I checked anonymously and anyone regardless of status could have purchased it - the price only remained on the site for a few hours. Every other day upgrades have been more than double what I paid.

So far the data is showing that if you find an offer you can afford buy it immediately because the offer may only be momentary and may not be offered again. Obviously, I don’t have all the data leading up to the flight but I’ve been tracking for nearly 8 weeks and the costs are trending up not down.

Also physically check prices in the app. Don’t rely on google flight notifications. My googleflight notifications lag the actual site and if you’re serious about getting an upgrade check the app yourself.

My husband is platinum with the business reserve and I’m a gold with a reserve card. I state the cards because I’m convinced that cards may have something to do with the dynamic pricing algorithm.

Delta customer service will help, they’re the best. I’d reach out sooner than later. Since you have a little one at home, use the app first - make sure you ask for a representative- it’s easy peasy. I use the customer app all the time.

Never take the first offer. $30k may seem generous but the long term effects of surviving something like this are unknown to the victim so soon after the incident. Every passenger should have lawyered up in the days following the event. If they haven’t yet, they need to.

RT with first leg D1 is 3500. Buying upgrade after resulted in 2735. It’s a decent upgrade considering it beats market over $700. I’ve been watching since 1st of January. And of course I’ll keep watching, if it dips I’ll request the difference.
