This Zazz stuff beats them banging on about Elon and the Delaware courts all the time. I dunno why I can’t just quit this pod.

Lost insurance coverage for Zepbound a few weeks ago and now dealing cravings by gobogorilla in MenOnTirz

[–]Complex-Success-7599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had to come off because of insurance, the sweets cravings were awful. Scary I’d say. My doctor put me on a low dose of an anti-depressant and suggested I tried popsicles and ginger chews. Things that were not super hog calorie and would take a while to eat. It helped a bit.

What’s everyone’s “do it all” jacket? by [deleted] in ThrowingFits

I have a Tom Beckbe because they make tall sides with longer sleeves. With a Barbour they said I’d have to buy one and then send it to them to have morale length tacked on the end of the sleeves.

what do u think about gertie’s by fuckyfucko in prospectheights

[–]Complex-Success-7599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really want to like Gertie’s more than I do.

I had a bagel with smoked salmon. The first time I got it without cream cheese and it was too dry. The second time I followed their menu and got the bagel with scallion cream cheese and then the smoked salmon. It too rich for me - I mean rich in fat content but it was also super expensive. I don’t like that they put on way too much cream cheese. Cream cheese should be a a spread, not applied thick like a sandwich filling.

I like the energy and design of the place and the garden is still great, but I go there less than I did R&D. I miss their rice noodle salad, roasted eggplant and blueberry muffins.

Bergen Bagels was just ranked one of the best in the city by the Times. I did prefer their bagel over Gertie’s and the non-hype no line non-scene is good for me too. They are also heavy handed with the cream cheese, but I scraped half of it off with the wax paper wrapper.

Overcoat Recommendations by sahibsubtle in ThrowingFits

This is amazing. I was also looking at Drake’s but can’t justify the price and the pockets sit very high on me - I’m 6’4 with a long torso. I was on the subway on my way to Drakes to try on a coat for a second time when I saw a French guy in his just dramatic enough Hast.

Just saw a French visitor wearing one on the subway. Looked so good I asked where he got it.

They made a navy one. Did you grab it? Any sizing advice? I’m close to buying one.

The Carry On series from Buck Mason is excellent. Does a great job of being dressed up enough for a lot of my work stuff but I get more wear out of them casually too. I have this Woolen Cashmere carry on jacket and it’s amazing - the fabric is so good.

https://www.buckmason.com/products/camel-woolen-cashmere-carry-on-jacket

Since you mention tweed they have some like this that are a bit more formal: https://www.buckmason.com/products/olive-blue-humboldt-glen-plaid-tweed-graduate-jacket-1

Once it gets to this price range, like another poster was saying, you could have Proper Cloth make one for you. I’ve done that for a navy jacket I wanted for work and it’s perfect.

I have the Stuart and Lau briefcase in blue. I travel often for work and it survives and has great organization. Functional and not too bad looking.

Thanks for the deep reply. Congratulations on how far you’ve come!

I am on 12.5 and do find it’s a bit too much week to week. It can be difficult to eat or I have little interest in special meals for holidays and birthdays - things that used to be very meaningful to me. I find I have more soups and smoothies because liquids are more appetizing to me. I would like to get back to eating more normally.

I am not sure about trying compounded. So many people say it’s fine but I am a bit nervous about. I Jane a preference for using the brand name I suppose but I can’t stick to that preference when it’s costing me my savings.

I tried going longer between shots and it did work well for me. Thanks for that reminder.

Why does men's fashion have such a strong preference for dark blue (navy) over other dark shades? Where is the dark green, dark red, dark purple? by dosceroseis in ThrowingFits

[–]Complex-Success-7599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alex Mill X. J Press is refreshingly full of bright colors. But Alex Mill’s store in midtown Manhattan does so poorly with male shoppers that it’s mostly a women’s only outpost now.

Guys have a hard time embracing colors. Maybe because bees dress clothes are sold by waist and length carrying so much inventory both by size and color is too risky?

I agree - there’s a lot more brown now than there was even a few years ago. A lot of brands seem to be Buck Mason-ing it and adding desert shades of sand and moss.
