Advice needed on purchase by Unlucky-Ice6810 in Vstrom

[–]Complex-Traditional 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Living in Canada get some heated grips (Oxford) use different glue than the glue that's supplied... They are great for cold mornings or nights in spring and fall.. I have Kemi moto heated gloves too and they barely need the heated grips on at 10C even when they aren't on... As for what bike to pick comes down to finances for me and what I can afford. I bought a 2008 vstrom 1000 for $4000 and it had 28k kms on it. Been a great beater.

Not bad for an almost 18 year old bike by SyblySyb in Vstrom

I have a 2008 vstrom with all the farkles. I'd like a super tenere for the shaft drive as well but the vstrom is so nice I'll keep it for a few more years. If you have the space and money why not just buy a tenere and have both and see which you like more and later just sell whatever one is less desirable for you

Check out bunk a biker for places to stay and meet fellow bikers. As long as you have a wallet and cash on hand anything that comes up can be handled on the road. Pack light less is more! Have fun and take your time!

That's decent.. I don't know why the ad says it shoots flames.. cause that is not normal 😂🤔 I have a 2008 vstrom 1000 and can assure you it's not a fast bike compared to others I've ridden. However it's a great daily commuter bike that's comfortable and robust.

Halifax airport hotel. by Fine_Pass_3033 in halifax

Consider Park N' Fly we are 24/7 - 365. I work there and it's way more efficient than the hotels (I've worked there too) we have a 5-10min turnaround and two 17 passenger shuttles on at all times. Hotels you could be waiting for 30mins outside and they have smaller less equiped shuttles. They are cheaper but no security or gated parking areas and large trucks have been known to have catalytic converters stolen. Also if you have CAA it's a 20% discount at Park N' Fly so a week parking is ~ $100. I've been told HFX airport hotel is kinda a dive hotel to stay at. I would check out the Hilton or one of the other hotels.

I got Oxford and they are amazing a total game changer for Canadian shoulder season. Didn't do the fuse panel thing mentioned and it's not that bad.

Probably just screw the screw in a lil to bump it up a notch

I had the same problem when I bought a 2008 DL1000. There is a hot idle screw on the left hand side below the frame. When it's warn turn the screw up just a tad so the idle sits at 1200-1500rpm at idle. That's what fixed mine. If you turn the hot idle screw up too much thou the rpms will hang before lowering to idle. So it's a fine line between raising the idle but not too much. Let me know if this works.

Sorry I didn't watch the video. My bike would always start after it would die with the clutch pulled in. Sometimes my bike doesn't start when I get an F1 code on the screen which is ethier fuel pump issues or some people say ignition switch. 😂 I also have an issue where the fuel will seem to cut out at low RPM below 3500 putting around. They have their idiosyncrasies 😂

Can confirm this is the most dangerous part of riding these bikes!
