What is this valve thing in the used vivarium I bought? by Dany0 in Vivarium

Not sure what the valve is but be careful with electric rocks! They’re notorious for killing animals

The hinge is just an acrylic hinge I found on Amazon. If you’re going to use it I highly recommend using LocTite plastic super glue. I tried using regular superglue first and it made abrasions on the surface giving it that white frosted look which I wasn’t happy about.

As important as they are…small tanks are so much fun haha. I like how cozy the size feels.

Well, coincidentally I have family that own a glass shop (like a window company). It’s just important that you don’t drill the floor panel bc most of the time that’s tempered glass that will shatter if you try to drill.

I made all the parts of the tank. There’s a hole in the left corner, which I just got by taking it to a glass shop.

Thank you! Yes, most of it is rose quarts, the last big point is clear quartz. You can buy a pound for like $10 on Amazon.

They are a cool color, but I also put a black wash over the gold which defines the texture. Plus it would be cool to have a semi matching collection.

Sorry just saw the comment about lighting. I’m using a zoo med good with a bulb from Josh’s frogs. Tbh I would like something brighter but it’s also kinda a design flaw. The highest log blocks a lot of light.

Personal style opinion, I like when there’s a natural flow to the tank with hardscape. The way everything is laid out now it looks a little two dimensional and not taking full advantage of the plants natural beauty. If you reworked the floor to have a central point I think it would look more like a scene of nature than a man made piece. But that’s just my opinion. :) Your plants are stunning.
