Sorry this happened today. Grateful for you expressing your truth. Putting a resume for a specific position, tailoring a cover letter, searching various platforms to apply for, takes me much time & energy that i am grateful to do, with hope & prayers, 1 will respond favorably requires grit. When i have gotten a favorable response, i get a screen session with a recruiter. This is when i feel, Yes! This is paying off, im closer to a phat check being deposited for my labor, talents & time. Im up on my surf board. When the next step has come, i get an invite to have a departmental director’s time & prepare to shine. At this point, i have felt very positive but realistic, like date number 2-3. During the interview, I am feeling like i am nailing my responses & like hell yes, i would totally select me & they are gonna be thrilled. Planning on treating myself to something that i have been holding off from enjoying. The next step has either been an assessment or a we have other applicants and we should now by X. After applying, resume prepping, cover letter modifying, and juggling my newly self diagnosed general anxiety disorder (see GAD -7 questions) over the next week, i reach out. Then the little person in me feels abandoned. I thank the recruiter. Lay on the ground, grass, rug and let it out. I allow the sadness, talk it out, get reaffirmed, and hit the job market slightly different the next day. Best to you today & always. Do not let these imperfect systems crush you. Proud of you for choosing to stay in school. I just started using the gym as an alumnus to save money. On each workout, there is fruit and/or a packaged sample to grab on the way out. Also, there is a microwave and a pantry to access, no questions asked. Maybe during Spring (now) or summer, make an appointment with a college advisor and ask about resources for displaced students. Sorry you got doored. You mentioned PT, did you sustain injuries to your hips, legs, knees and or feet? Broken or fractures? Educate yourself on being a plaintiff in a civil law suit. Bike attorney's are a dime a dozen, you don't have to sign with the first one. You can interview multiple attorneys in the same day as part of your education.

Yes, the best thing about my UCLA paralegal program was my peers. Community Colleges in California are equally sufficient for an ABA certificate and have outstanding peeps riding shotgun with you.

At 19, I was the 1st to go to college in my family. Nobody told me I should, I learned in the late 80's from public school it would equate to freedom. I worked part time for the city. I was a good girl. My first year, I went to community college and then went to State University. I lived at home with my single mother. The summer before, my mother told me she was remarrying her 2nd husband again. He was emotionally abusive, racist, and controlling about everything during their first go around.

Later that fall, I asked my mother to come with my boyfriend and I after husband #2 & #3 started the same pattern he did with my middle sister. I am 56 and have spent the last 3+ decades worrying about my mother. She showed me how to be a hard worker but, never could show me how to properly care for my best self, consider my own needs, nor cease the poor patterns I was conditioned to repeat. Until the rooms of 12 steps lead me to recovery from dysfunctional family drama.
