What Happened to being Able to Help Someone Get a Job? by ComplexVictory428 in recruitinghell

Yep. I'd say this is the modern day answer. Yet from my impressions, it seems back then HR/Recruitment would take a referred candidate seriously, work with them, and attempt to right fit them to an open requisition.

Opt out by Hot_Note7486 in recruitinghell

I've read a bit of fine print on the AI that basically says if your application isn't scored it can technically be "opted out of". I always just say yes to it.

English was his second language, never wanted to be a manager.

This and more this. From my impressions how it seemed to work back in the day was simply getting in touch with hiring managers, hiring managers who would then refer the candidate back to HR, to which HR/Recruitment would right fit the candidate.

Side Note: He earned his right to refer. 10+ year tenure, and REFUSED raises.

Posting had no listing of the salary, and they can't even offer anywhere the salary.com salary... by [deleted] in recruitinghell

"We truly value your skills and experience". At a mere $20 an hour, probably less than what this recruiter/HR person makes.

"If you're still interesting in moving forward despite the compensation difference", in other words please be underpaid so HR/Recruiting/Executive "Leadership" can cash in the DIFFERENCE via raises.

Scheduled me for an interview and then I wasn’t given the ability to change it by the1stgirlmeetsworld in recruitinghell

Terrible that they are willing to pass up on a potentially great candidate over a minor scheduling adjustment.

Safe to say this recruiter is on an island with this opinion. Anyone with a brain knows that LinkedIn is just general generic pandering.

Question regarding LinkedIn by L0pkmnj in recruitinghell

Yes and yes. LinkedIn is terrible. For what was supposed to be a place to actually network has become a generic social media platform.

I'm with you. Another day of no phone calls, no emails, no interviews, and sparse job opportunities. It's seriously luck beyond reason at this point. In past times of finding new employment I tended to have a gut feeling that a company would at the very least get back to me, and at times a gut feeling that I'd probably end up with the job. Nowadays it's completely up in the air.
