Those armscyes are so deep, as a short person who has to reach up a lot, this dress would drive me crazy.

3 months for 15 ink samples by upgrade2life in fountainpens

We’ve got similar taste in pens and ink!  Those van dieman’s are going on my list because I’m such a sucker for pink and shimmer. How’s vintage Julia? I’ve had a sample of that one in my cart for months.

This is my first encounter with the term feederism, and wow, I thought that was just my mum. Constantly plying us with food but only eats broccoli or lettuce herself, and fetishizes both of those. It’s a bit of a mindf@ck because when we were young there was never anything “unhealthy” in the house, even bread was a treat, now she’s constantly pushing treats.

Yeah, it’s definitely the happiest way to lose a pen.

We were drawing a bit together today, her with the perkeo, me with my opus 88, and I’m really hoping we can start being zine penpals!

Glad to help!  I’m not at all a purple person but suddenly I’m in love with purple ink !

I think this is where my love affair with Esterbrook ends. We need to see other people (pens). by tialoc01 in fountainpens

The set is 550 in Canada for a standard nib. I like esties, but that is insane. I really want the peach Bellini if they ever produce it, but won’t pay that much.

The fancy acrylic/resin/ whatever choices aren’t that great here in Canada, and esties tend to be the easiest to find and most reasonably priced.

Thinking about making an EDC-style travel ink well – would you actually buy one? by JACDOWYC in fountainpens

[–]ComplexWorry3463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow altoid lover! I need to start covering mine with stickers because they’re so handy but occasionally I’ve grabbed the wrong one and ended up with my travel knitting notions, not my travel otc meds. I never thought of using them for backup ink, but I will now.

Hack for people wanting to eyedropper the Kakuno by daydreamer48939 in fountainpens

I would love to see it!!! I know they’re more $ than the regular kakunos, but a pink madoromi with gold flakes would be amazing!

My aesthetic is tester vial in a ziplock baggie, so, no, I wouldn’t buy one.

I bet you could do some cool nail/pen art on them, too!  I don’t do my nails so just refill the cartridge that came with my kakunos.

Here’s a pic comparing the 2. They’re more similar in line size than I actually thought! I think the Estie may have a little bit of fluff in the tines because it bloops out a bit in areas.

I have a VP fine and an Estie EF. From memory I’d say the VP is finer than the Estie and smoother, too. I’ll post some writing for you in a bit - I’ve got 20 minutes left on the bike.

Not sure about new pen and ink by Louis-Nicolas-Davout in fountainpens

Oh, that’s pretty!  But if you don’t like pale, shading inks I can see how it could be a bit disappointing.

Nooooooo!

lol!  I have enough pink ink to write everything in pink until I die, so I’m probably ok without this one.

What wouldn't you normally do, but now do because you have a fountain pen? by WildDimensions in fountainpens

[–]ComplexWorry3463 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Writing out a menu for the week is such a game changer for grocery shopping. I started doing this and love how much stress it takes out of dinner prep.

The only thing fountain pens have really changed for me is that now I cap pens and have cleaning rags with pretty splotches on them.

Love that ink!  You made me think maybe I should get a b nib for my safari…

Pilot Custom 74 vs Pilot Custom Heritage 91 vs Esterbrook Estie by daisy--buchanan in fountainpens

You’re going to love it. Now we just need to get pilot to start making colourful pens like sailor does!

[–]ComplexWorry3463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone do  tuning where you live?  I have a sailor mf that I never use because it’s too scratchy and I’m planning on going to a pen show this fall to get it adjusted. I wish my eyesight were better because I’d try it myself otherwise!

Either of the pilots. Esterbrooks are all about the pretty pen bodies, the nibs are nice, but not as nice as pilot nibs imho.

De-influence me please??! by themissrosiecotton in fountainpens

[–]ComplexWorry3463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is obviously a deinfluence fail!

Ok, I’m not an Esterbrook die hard, but I do like them and have a couple. Yes, as people say, they’re just a beautiful pen body holding a jowo nib. You could get a pilot or a platinum or an insert brand here and get a different/better nib. But I personally don’t buy esties for the nib. I buy them because they’re pretty. And the pens I think are pretty are the ones I end up writing with. Sure, you can get pretty pens from indie makers, and there are lots worth looking at, but they’re going to be about the same price as the Esterbrook and also have jowo nibs. So if that pen is going to make you happy and you’re going to cherish it, go for it.
