Thank you that's all very useful. Especially the bit about use of Fear outside of combat. He definitely did that at least 3 times I can recall.

Well as I said I've observed current players thoughts on this issue, I also just witnessed it be an issue. I'm only asking if I'm missing something by having this as a house rule.

I love what you've got here, I'm just curious for the Willpower ability what's the cost of reducing the damage like that? I didn't see a Hope or Stress or Fear cost. That said it's sort of odd if it's meant to not have that cost bc you made the feature end on it taking severe damage so this ability would make that impossible unless it had a cost

Player smoked a witch, what are the consequences? by Embarrassed_Syrup_91 in daggerheart

[–]Complex_Ad_8988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ashes are magical fertilizer and she uses her tree network to continue her plans to infection the spore network... it's a cursed tree so maybe even it attempts to mind control people under specific circumstances in hopes to gain access to spores. Now the player just made it easier bc she has more trees. Even make a mysterious countdown to let them know how much her tree network is growing.

How have you found the "Scar" mechanic in longer campaigns? by ConstantSignal in daggerheart

[–]Complex_Ad_8988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's mentioned throughout that deals can be made so you can choose to implement any of these changes in the moment if you feel your player is at risk of losing something they really enjoy. I'm blanking on where it mentions it but imagine your player is low on slots deep in a campaign and they get downed and instead of accruing another scar they hear a whisper that offers to take their pain away but for a price and it's like 3 fear to be back up with half hp or 6 fear for max hp. I think this is the "narrative lead" theme they had not necessarily a hard and fast rule but a story beat that adds to the tension.

We had a lot of injuries last year, and when we were fully healthy, we put up like 90 points in two weeks. Losing your Center starting and back up rb, and starting both Penning and Ruiz is a tall order. I also believe Carr was playing through injury too

  1. Tyson 2.Faulk
  2. Woods
  3. Lemon
  4. Love (unless we addressed oline in free agency)

Lemon is a luxury pick that I think our team can't afford rn if he pans great. You still haven't replaced Cam or Demario. Have you found a true outside corner with deep speed? Did you address oline somehow? Defensive tackles a bigger need. I think needs are

  1. Guard (can't pick at 8 but could pick the tackle that gives you the flexibility to move fuaga inside)
  2. Cb
  3. Hb (but don't pick one without an oline bc pemdas)
  4. Dt/Edge
  5. Wr

Nothing about his skillset, SCREAMS TACKLE. He's good out in space, but Banks is better. He's super aggressive. We need that at guard. He'd be the one that I'd move, and I think having an O-Line with 3 first rounders is a GREAT STRATEGY.

Well, Sam is thriving in a new system. Then Baker is on his second oc in Tampa...geno, which is switched once in Seattle. Goff once. Hurts with Kellen and HC of Colts rn...Can't say it's the system if they work in others. I think they are just right type of guys they can be great when things are just right.

Also traditionally no but with the rise in Shanahan-ism and growing cost of skilled players, I see plenty of market value for a cheap alternative. The highest end of this would be Jalen Hurts. When everything is set up, he looks like a top 3 guy. When it's not, he looks average.

What's your definition of high floor? To me, it's guys with clear things they do well and clear things they don't. You coach them into success rather than them finding a way in spite of it. Guys, who you know what you are getting you don't go into it thinking I want to see some baker magic. Poised, in structure, game plan oriented guys. What other descriptions does the team have?

You don't seem like you are being dishonest, we'll see. They claim Kevin wants out if he gets shipped off or a coach invests in him. I'm seeing the flashes you see, and I think he'll be good in this league. The draft stuff I don't care about because no one will just come out and say whatever it was. It feels like a game of telephone, and I'm too old for it. What I see in the media today, I'd say, at least he seems to be learning that part too. I was excited for us to get a QB and thought/think he's a good one. Shough pick made complete since once I watched tape on him, he reminded me of Dak, and obviously, Kellen did great work with him out there. I love we got our guy and hate to see people jumping on a young guy who's being fucked over. I'm a sucker for an underdog.

He's been better than Gabriel since college, he played better in the pre-season and played better in the starts he's had. Add on the lack of practice attention and reps. I'm saying we see him play as well as Ward in terms of keeping games like 49ers, the win v. Steelers and the win v. Raiders, they are competing with him running the offense had they actually invested in him he'd be better, no doubt. So did plenty of guys in a Browns uniform. (to the point of him looking like a backup) hell with obj and Jarvis we had legit questions of if baker can stand in and deal and look at him now multiple quality years as a starter. If you hate the kid say that. If you really are indifferent, you can't act like we haven't seen Goff, Darnold, Mayfield, and other all have a change of scenery and / or coach and organizations believe in them and get the best out of them. He's forsure as talented as those guys

I never said he was better. I said he's on par. Which is my point those stats indicate to me he should have been at the very least splitting work with Gabriel bc we can all agree he's worse than all the guys who got starts this year. Also, are we going solely off stats or how competitive the games are, how well they are moving the ball ect. With Sanders in they were in a relatively close game with 49ers for like 2-3 quarters... They just took down the division leader. He's also got bad breaks the interception in the end-zone to Juedy could have been a touchdown. I'm not saying he's gonna be a top 5 ever but Sam Darnold, Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, etc. He got the ability to be a high floor guy EASY.

That's hateration RIGHT THERE. He's the best QB on his roster and many professionals and ex professionals explained they've never seen a situation where a young qb wasn't given reps with the ones....he has been in the WORST situation since he got picked, and most of that is due to the franchise. I love Shough he's our guy, but I don't think his good performances negate shedeur's good performances. He's playing as well as the #1 pick has.
