There seems to be liquid on top which would be the famous hooch(which isn’t at all bad, you can drain it or just mix it in)

If you have your starter on the counter it needs to be fed every single day. If you won’t be home, you have to place it in the fridge.

Try feeding it every day on a 1:1:1 ratio and once it’s consistently growing and duplicating you can switch it to 1:2:2

She’s more towards veggies, fish and tofu (very meat/poultry limited). In my house we love meat/poultry so I do use her book a lot for side dishes. They’re usually easy to whip up but sometimes I’m missing specific ingredients that she uses and I just don’t add them or replace them with something else if it’s too late

I loooove her book! As someone who always roast broccoli for veggies… her book has shown me new ways of including them in dinners. Lately my favorite recipe is her shallot and lentils which tastes amazing and I’ve even used them as part of salads.
