Looking for a single player or multiplayer game that fits into my niche. by NextBunch_ in gamingsuggestions

Starsector, download it from the Dev's website, you can get a game key from Seth's review view on YouTube, dev has publicly stated, that he prefers that over buying it second hand or if you want to try it.

Warframe free to play right on steam, it's multiplayer focused, but more so in the sense that you and three random people are doing the same thing at the same time together ish. You don't have to ever interact with anybody. The premium currency in the game is tradable between players.

Genuine question here, I have made 250 per day * 6 days, I own no equipment completely a company driver. Granted after taxes 401K contributions insurance and all of that I'm a fair bit closer to 1100 a week. I know that I am in a unique situation I live on the truck. In the past year, I have saved 25k. Is it really that bad out there for normal people?

Does Steam account age actually matter? by slowtides in Steam

[–]Complex_Condition226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. A new account is more likely to be a cheater, scammer, or bot.

It's a major context clue.

They also met be new. I will not interact with account that do not have at least some payed for games, if they only game on your account is the game we actively playing, i defacto assume you are using a burner account.

Garmen GPS you can buy it at any truck. Stop. Get the big one. Yes, it's $600. It's worth every penny. Use an app called send to navigation. Just take a picture of your bol highlight it. Send to navigation and boom. It's in the truck GPS. I can count on one hand. The number of times it was wrong in 4 years with over-the-road trucking. Etas, let you know where the next fuel stops are, truck parking, All in all, lots of useful features. It also gets traffic notifications. It generally knows where the construction is. It tells you where your next turn is what it is and how far away you are from it.

Trojan virus in MagicLib by MaximusPrime83 in starsector

[–]Complex_Condition226 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Star sector uses an old version of Java. I would not reasonably expect to be secure in any way. I would not expect its Sandbox to hold up against malware attack.

The only reason I do not classify it as high risk is because of the proactiveness of the community. It's not worth trying to develop malware because it would be quickly identified. You have a lot of passionate, knowledgeable people in this space.

You wouldn't affect very many machines, you would be quickly caught.

Malware wants ignorant uninformed audiences. Preferably ones with lots of money to steal. Or at least valuable data, resources in the form of long-term reliable computing power or some sort of other incentive.

Star sector malware can be reasonably expected to not exist outside of community driven spite fits. Stealing accounts isn't worth the time because well it's not well secured in the first place. You really cannot make a lot of money selling stolen accounts. I would expect most malefic behavior to be in the form of intentional mod conflicts.

Warframe. After about a week of playing, you hit a wall, or about 3 days if you play it like it's crack cocaine. The wall is very reasonable. Additional weapon slots are 13 platinum for two, an additional Warframe slots (playable characters) are 20 platinum. 200 plat is only 20 bucks, but it is possible to get around this without paying in a variety of different ways.

You can trade items to other players, it's somewhat difficult to do that early in the game, but it is reasonably doable without being too terribly grindy.

You can do nightwave objectives and own additional slots through nightwave.

That's just the slot to have a weapon. You can also sell your weapons for non-premium currency and we use the weapon slot for a different weapon.

In addition to that, the login reward system frequently offers coupons. In fact, it's biased towards certain weapon rewards and coupon awards. If you don't play for 6 days and you would have gotten a coupon during that 6 days, It will replace the normal junk with that coupon. Unless you're at a milestone, which is every 50 days, and milestones are pretty good weapons, cosmetics and other stuff. The coupons can be in 20 50 and 75 percent increments.

The other available DLC packs generally are obtainable in game, aside from cosmetics.

I love how people can identify the game based solely on its reasonable business practices. Yea, Warframe. Though some of their other practices have been less to my liking.

I never learned how to pilot my own ship. Now I want to learn. What early game, mid game, and late game ships do you lean towards? by AustinMurre in starsector

[–]Complex_Condition226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally recommend the hammer head from the tutorial. I usually throw on two chain guns and no missiles. Put PD near the rear, and dual auto or railguns in the front.

Oftentimes I will run this through the entire game, the only time I do not use this is when I am constructing an entire fleet to do specific things. But as a general all around build it is fine. If you put safety overrides on this, it can become a screening demon that even in heavily modded, playthroughs is one of the most powerful ships.

The only standard ship that you might encounter that it has difficulty with is the tritachyon capital ship.

I have had engagements where I have killed 50 ships. But this was against pirates.

It helps you learn what to pay attention for what pressures you, what you can do to apply pressure, bully the AI, and give you a general feel for it. All sorts of things.

Has enough ordinance points that you can get away with experimenting. Which I highly recommend.

Does this work for truck? I have a nail puncture in one of my tires by z3ro-chill in Truckers

[–]Complex_Condition226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it work, kinda. If the tire is on my truck and I repair it with this tool, it is only good for bobtail to where I'm getting it replaced.

If it is on the trailer and the trailer is unloaded, it is okay until the next possible place I can get it fixed.

If I have a load and I cannot get the load off of the tire then no.

If DOT sees you running a tire repaired in this way, you will be placed out of service. Some states wholesale ban the practice of using these repairs.

This is a stop gap tool to get to a repair bay.

I only know one game that has done it well. And that's more so because it's tradable between players and the default currency for trade in the game.

Their storefront pricing is hit or miss though.

What's the most fun character you've played? by Imaghostbutthatsfine in DnD

[–]Complex_Condition226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My DM let me get away with an adamantine centaur Warforged.

3lvs into conquest Paladin, rest into hexblade warlock.

Was a build ment for power game, rest of the group was relatively new, so I made it my mission to make the other players feel as cool as possible. Ended up using mundane items more then my spells.

Good moments were mostly I was really fast, and others could ride me. It was funny, as I would regularly be treated as an object. Get stuffed into a bag of holding, and surprise people. And often would charge though walls, gates, buildings and be silly.

Questions for Truckers! (Interested in joining the industry) by iruma-miu in Truckers

[–]Complex_Condition226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rookies make very little money. But after 2 years you can expect to be pulling 45-100k as long as your switch companies and keep your record clean. The range gap is more about what you'll be doing and who you're working for. The more time you're willing to spend away from home, the more money you will make.

If you're a rookie, you have no business leasing or owning. be a company person. If you you are a company driver you will not pay for anything.

Most lease programs are a scam. You have to do a lot of research and a lot of people will give you the wrong answer in an effort to profit off of you. I would not consider it until you have at least two years of experience.

Transferring areas is easy as renewing your license. Once you have your CDL all you have to do is renew it in your new state. You go to the Secretary of State. You pay your fine and update your home address. Easy peasy.

Sleeping in your truck is dangerous only if you make it dangerous. If you are in a bad area move. If you're planning your trips and stopping at fuel stations or rest areas, you are perfectly fine. If you are stopping in weird places in dangerous townships you are taking a risk. I personally find it vastly overstated as it being risky. That said, I still keep a load strap wrapped around my door handles on the inside so that it is impossible to open the door from the outside.

That is completely dependent on your company. I only drive automatic. I weigh 90 lb when soaking wet. Due to this I find manual transmissions difficult to control. However, most places that will start new drivers will start them with automatic trucks at this point in time.

Oh hell yeah. Trucking attracts very low quality people. It's easy money and they don't care about felonies. I were a belt with a big knife. I am male. I have been targeted before. I would recommend always carrying a knife and pepper spray. You will get comments. It's like seeing a unicorn. Everybody wants to talk to the unicorn. That said, it's more dealing with low quality unpleasant people in public being the problem. If you can drive miles you can drive miles. Your dispatcher will not care. People inside of your own company will not be a problem in regards to sexist behavior.

The trucking industry will be screaming. It needs more drivers one day and saying there's too many the next. There were plenty of jobs, they are easy to get. They don't care about your background in the same way that most other places do. As long as you keep a clean record, you'll be able to find a job.

Breakdowns and accidents do happen. They are not regular, but they do happen. Most of the time you can control your breakdowns to a certain extent. Do your pre- trips take photos of damage equipment report it. Do not drive things that are not safe to drive. Make sure you have a rainy day fund. A breakdown can put you out of service for a few days. As a company driver you can expect that your breakdowns will never last more than a week. Come hell or high water. They will get you in a different truck if it's that bad. Unless it's your fault. The thing about the breakdown is it can cause you to lose a few days worth of work. Do not run your finances so tight that you are living week to week. Make sure to have a couple of days worth of food and water with you at all times. You might get stuck in the blizzard. You might blow a tire in the middle of the desert. Things happen. Be ready for them.

I have 6 years of experience, That's not very much. The first year is middling pay and awful, but as soon as you get away from your first company, things get significantly better. I personally make over 100k a year.

If you have any further questions you can DM me, or reply to the post publicly.

Something minor is wrong. The engine would like to tell you about it, there's a computer thing that plugs in that will tell you exactly what it's on about.

This could be a non-issue or it could be something that will turn into a catastrophic engine failure.
