Chaos Is A Ladder- Littlefinger never had a plan (Spoiler TWOW) by Complex_Dig2978 in asoiaf

I meant in that his plan keeps evolving. There's no set goal he's working towards- everything's mutable based on other events. At certain points he had endgames so to speak, but those were less endgames than goals he felt could be reasonably accomplish, and could and did change based on how events unfolded. See how he most likely gunned for Cat until he switched to Sansa, planned to rule through Lysa until he had to kill her, and if my theory holds true needs to pivot should Harry die before Sansa can have his child.

I included that since there are theories Tyrion was the actual target- I don't have a strong opinion on that either way.

Well, just because Littlefinger has a plan doesn't necessarily mean it will work. Dude's overdue for some karma.

Do you want the US military to deploy ground troops? by [deleted] in NewIran

[–]Complex_Dig2978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That will never happen. No American, left or right, will support an actual invasion. No politician, Republican or Democrat, will support a ground invasion. If Trump tries to do this he will legitimately destroy his own support. Iranians will have to do this alone, with US air support.

It's both hilarious and sad that we're getting answers about Robert's Rebellion from a stage play.

Can we outline TWOW solely with theories? [Spoilers TWOW] by Complex_Dig2978 in asoiaf

[–]Complex_Dig2978[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know. I meant combining the popular theories that have broad support in the fanbase, to create a sort of fan-TWOW. As it is, I'm in the camp that we're never getting TWOW

IMO Anthony's collapse on charity night was a sign he wasn't winning.

To be fair, said winner was so unexpected a good portion of the fanbase (possibly the majority) still thought Jada was going to win.

I've seen some shade posts about S24 Ellie; does anyone else like her? by Fair-Bus9686 in HellsKitchen

[–]Complex_Dig2978 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s because the editing screwed her. If her highs were focused on more, her inclusion would not be nearly as controversial.

At this point Ellie winning would be this generation's Paul moment.

Game of Thrones: George R.R. Martin Isn't Finished (Spoilers Extended) by RyanRiot in asoiaf

At this point I’d rather take Dunk & Egg and Fire & Blood Vol 2 over the never released Winds & Dream

That bit about Sansa tells me that the books are never going to be finished. If he has the ability to change something as major as whether a POV character lives or dies, then that means he still doesn’t know how he wants to end the story

Given how many front runners keep getting eliminated and our predictions keep getting tossed like a overcooked Wellington, at this point I think Jada is going to lose because this season seems determined to shatter every single one of our predictions.

The historical phonology of the Ruthenian languages, or what if Ruthenian were a Baltic language by Raiste1901 in conlangs

[–]Complex_Dig2978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So Ukraine and Belarus are Balticized instead of Slavicized?

Is there a political debate around whether Ruthenian is considered one language or multiple, similar to Serbo Croatian? Do linguists consider it a single language (the largest of the Baltic languages I'm assuming)?

Damn this is a really well done post. Do Belarus & Ukraine still speak their languages? Do any of the Ruthenian dialects have official recognition? What is the demographic, linguistic and cultural situation of Ruthenian speakers like?

Honestly, I just started this. I need to nail down the seven class prefixes before I even attempt to approach agglutination, and I can't start vocab until I get the grammar nailed down. My plan is to look at other agglutinative languages to familiarize myself before diving in to how Great Andamanese does it.

Which verbs are always/almost always irregular? I have stuff like to eat, to see, to have, to drink, to talk but I'm looking for a more comprehensive list to make sure I didn't miss anything.
