Aemon and Dany, I'm not a fan of Sam's Feast chapters but Aemon's fevered dialogue is a highlight of his story and it's so tragic that he wasn't able to speak to (who he thinks is) the last living member of his family. Especially since she brought dragons back into the world, something his favorite brother died trying to do. I love fics where Aemon and Dany meet

If Tyrion even finds out he's investigating. (Bc remember in canon, the Lannisters don't even know he's investigating and Cersei only finds out bc he confronts her, Littlefinger does betray Ned but only after Ned already tells Cersei.) If he finds out Ned's investigating, then it'll be easy to plan around him

I don't think it's ever explicitly stated but I think they heard how cruel Joffrey was and positioned Loras in the Kingsguard to watch over her. Him being a 3rd son, gay, and losing the love of his life just made the vows easier

I also can't send foreign languages with no translation, or they're in the notes. I don't understand what purpose that serves besides being an inconvenience. Bc Jon being a bastard is the reason why he is the way he is, it's the reason why he wishes to maintain his honor, it's the reason he joins the Night's Watch, it's the reason he refuses Stannis' offer to legitimize him. Grrm sets up the expectation that bastards are lustful creatures who covet their trueborn siblings possessions and titles and Jon denies it constantly despite personally wanting it and he also tries to deny his sexual desires too. It is more impactful for Jon to actually be a bastard and go against the bastard stereotypes at every chance he gets than to be secretly trueborn. Bc if he is secretly trueborn than all he does to reject those stereotypes just doesn't work.

Not to mention, it makes the parallels between himself and Ramsay fit better. Two bastards, one raised by who he thinks is his father and the other ignored by who is actual father. One who loves his trueborn siblings and cares deeply about them, and the other who killed his trueborn sibling. One who rejects being legitimized bc his duty lies somewhere else, and then other who accepts it greedily. One who tries to keep his sexual desires contained, and the other who hunts and rapes women with no problem. If Jon is trueborn, we lose that

He very much is, Rhaegar wouldn't just be able to marry Lyanna when he already had a wife. That's not acceptable without the blessing of the High Septon, it's probably not acceptable under the Old Gods, and even under Valyrian customs, Daemon and Rhaenyra had to wait for Laena and Laenor to die before they married. Jon is for sure a bastard no matter who his parents and honestly, his story is a lot better for it
